OK - figuring about 15 a coin shipped to the US...  This makes a few bucks a coin for the GH dad relief fund.

International I will figure on a case to case business...

Will expect Paypal, spoke to the business manger she stated that it will have to be a checking account transfer to preclude the Paypal fees...

I am going to order 300 coins to start, that is about what I have totaled up based on the thread.

I will setup a Coin e-mail on my mail server to automate this somewhat...early next week.

One thing I am wondering, gold behind the globe or black, red?

Coin will be the shape of the CVO logo...

I will be supplying the coin vendor the source files and I am SURE they can do a better job with photoshop and fireworks then I can...

I think gold would look very good.

If you vote no...be kind enough to leave feedback on what you think needs improvement.

Adding the background as a vote choice.

By voting gold I meant gold metal.. (brass? whatever) , not paint.     Looking good.  Is it gonna be textured? flat? just paint?  If I soak the paint off will it be nicely etched in? or raised?  too many questions?  too much coffieeeeeee!!!!!     need scotch.  I'll get back to you....

I have been getting them quoted with epoxy, so they will be smooth.

I guess I am more of a traditionalist. I have seen lots of challenge/commemorative coins and the majority of them have been round.
I would think making the CVO coin round ,it would be easier to make and you could balance the designs for the front and back easier.
If you made the coin round you could easily expand the gold outer ring to the top edge so it forms an outer ring very easily on the front.
As far as the back if you made the coin round you could easily expand the globe and the overall shape would match the design of the actual coin. It would also give more room for the globe/eagle/engraving space.
It would also eliminate the design "dead space" created by the backside of the wings vs. the diameter of the globe.
Then a round coin would be easier to carry in a pocket by not having edges to dig in on a long ride. Most display boxes and shelves for the challenge coins are designed for the round coins , so for those members that may have other type of coins, the CVO coin will fit into their collections.
But this is just my .02.

noted...

I have a mix of shapes in my collection, most round - but some dog tags, some other shapes - like a domino from my recent Iraq deployment.

Sean,
I like the idea of a round coin myself.  I've never seen shaped coins before.  All the ones we passed around when I was at a couple of Joint commands were round.  More traditional that way.  JMHO.

what do you all think of the edge treatment?

I know I can't make everyone happy here.

This one has the epoxy fill also - smooths out the coin.
