With the extra $200 you can buy the glove boxes or at least one

I placed the order today for the vivid black lowers and glove box kit.  Hopefully Black will be a easier to get than a cvo color.  Primer is not an easy option either.  Moco will not even sell the paint!  I'll post photos when I get them installed.

When I spoke with the dealer they said that I shouldn't leave them on in hot weather (over 60 degrees).  He said lowers restrict air flow to the engine.  I probably will remove them in warm months anyhow, but was wondering what you all think about his comment.  Do lowers materially interfere with cylinder cooling?

I've never removed the lowers on my bike since owning it. I'd ask the dealer where in the MoCo documentation is he getting that information from. I think it's more of a personal choice. Some feel more comfortable w/them removed. :nixweiss:

Others will say it actually improves engine cooling by directing more air toward the cylinders.  Who knows for sure. :nixweiss:  Like Gary, mine stay on year-round.

I agree with Dood I have had the lowers on my 04 for 50k including some pretty hot weather ,....so far so good

I guess I am to dam lazy to keep taking them off and on even with the quick release crap they have introduced

The lowers for the 09 SERG (O/B) are vivid black while the tour pak is electric orange. The lowers are on page 417 of the current year accessories catalogue($824.95) and the tour pak is on page 395(electric orange) for $1199.95
As for the Silver one , same pages , same prices, Titanium dust lowers and Stardust Silver Tour pak. ---- Yellow one----same pages , same prices , charcoal slate lowers, and Yellow pearl tour pak.

Road glide owners HAVE TO take off the lowers in the summer or you will die. Well, atleast heat stroke! I have Hoppe brand vents in my lowers so that lets me keep them on untill May or early June in the spring (in Michigan) and then I put them back on in September. I also have the Hoppe vents in my 04' SE Electraglide and I leave those lowers on all year. The Roadglide fairing just blocks much more air than the Electraglide.
