At this juncture--i am going to sit tight and see what the after market world brings. I have heard the fullsac mufflers with the core change and--althought they are an inexpensive way to get some rumble and some performance--they just don't have enough BARK for my liking. That may be different with a true dual change.....But at this point-- I bet that 60 days from now there will be a few more opotions out there. A big thanks to all the  members who have posted on this thread--it has great info that many of us can use when making an exhaust decision.

I would venture to say it will be a little longer than that before someone comes out with headers for the SERG.  Companies can't get ahold of one to do mockups.

sblair---you may be correct about that. I ran accross a site with COBRA 4 inch mufflers---anyone know if these will fit the 09SERG? I have heard that they sound pretty good. ANyone have any experience with these mufflers....good or bad?

I tried a set on an 04 88 engine They were Big, Well Made, And Loud, Sound is very subjective but im guessing they would shake the walls on a 110.

I dropped an email to D&D last week. Here is their response.

Ken
We have a 09 bike in R&D right now and we are looking at what to do I know we are going to have slip-on muffler, a Fat Cat, also working on a dual system. If you will contact me in about 30 day I will know if the dual system is going to work and what kind of performance it will give you. At this time the slip-ons are giving about a 10% increase in performance so we are hoping for more out of a dual system don't know just yet. We are also going to have a SLANT cut muffler to flow with the bags along with the regular back cut.

Thanks for contacting D&D

been reading this older post and have the same concerns. I don't want to MOD by myself because i'm not good at it so i need the dealer. Waiting for my 2009 SEUC and thinking about how to make it better. This thread didn't end with any conclusion, just confusion.

With the "shark-nose" front end (as it's been nick-named) on the SERG, has anyone considered the "fish-tail" or the "shark-fin" end-caps on their exhaust pipes? I'm not sure H-D still makes the "shark-fin" exhaust tip (had 'em on a Roadking once - they really do a number on your shins if you're not careful when moving around the bike!). If thye're both still available, would they even fit the 4" muffler and get past the rear end of the SERG? I'm trying to visualize what they would look like. Might be a nice touch, completing the overall "shark" look? What do you think?

I had a set of the Cobra 4" w/Billet end caps on my 07 UCSE.  Had them with VH ture duals.  Way loud.  Looked great, but too loud for me.  Like the Fulsac conversion a lot better.

I sold them a buddy for his 88" RKC, they sound awesome.  Don't know if anyone knows it, but Cobra has come out with a 2 into 1 with the 4" muffler and Billet end cap.
