Well, I finally got connected to a live person at Corbin in Hollister after several days of phone calls. Janice (sales mngr. maybe?) said that the 08' pans won't fit the 09' CVO Road Glide and that they haven't made any seats for it yet.

Don, I guess that you really didn't get a Corbin seat even though it looks like and feels like a Corbin seat.

Janet suggested that it will be mid-late October before they are ready to begin making seats for the 09' CVO Road Glide. I guess that I will just have to put up with the stock seat for a while longer...I hate being patient.

Well guys we made the trip to Corbin to see if they had an seats to fit the SERG's, and they do if it's a solo seat the touring two up seat not yet! maybe next month I was told, and like somebody said earlier if they had a bike to work with, I offered my old seat for as long as they needed, but they want the whole bike! I don't need a two up so had them make me a solo! here's some pic's.

Hey Guilty, are you getting a 2 up or a solo? I thought Don said 2 up's are a month away. :nixweiss:

I want the Classic Solo and Passenger Touring Pillion. All that I asked them about was the Classic Solo.

I'm thinking if Don has some spare time on his hands maybe he can go by the factory and have another seat made??....then again, I am sure that he would rather be out riding.

Nice seat!!!  I am also looking for a solo seat for my yellow pearl 09 SERG.  Do you know if Corbin is going to offer a "close" version, as they do on their standard line?  I'm only 5"6", and need all the reach I can get!

Well Guilty!
Perhaps you should reread my first post about this! I told everybody they would make a SOLO but not a touring until Oct. If you've ever been to  Corbin you would see that they make seats for all kinds of customs they sure in hell DON"T have pans for them .  I'm not sure who Janet is don't really care either. But rest assured it's a Corbin seat I watched them make it!!

You are just a days ride from there, so if you leave Friday AM you could be riding home with a new seat Sunday AM, suppose to be a nice weekend. Then that up grade would be done and over and on to the next one. No reason to wait when they are that close. I have seen Don's seat and IT IS a Corbin 100%.

Don, you know I was just joking around. Your post sounds like you were offended and that was not my intention. The seat that I requested was a Classic Solo with a passenger pillion, just like you ordered.

Since last week, Corbin has the Classic Solo seats on their website with no prices (for the 09' Road Glide) and the following is their response to ordering a Classic Solo seat for the 09' SERG:

Hi Ken ~

Thank you for your Internet order.

Unfortunately, according to our technical department we have not had the opportunity to have a 2009 HD CVO Road Glide in our shop for Research and Development.  We are also unaware of any of our current parts that will crossover and fit perfectly with your bike.

At this time, I will cancel your order.  I will also place a request with R & D to research this bike for future projects.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any comments or suggestions.

Best Wishes,

Patti Koesling

Distance: 660.3 milesTime: 10 hours 17 mins (approx.) - Over 20 hours in the saddle on I-5 and 4-6 hours waiting at Corbin does not sound like a enjoyable weekend.

It was just a remedy for your comment "I hate to be patient"
Some bold letters on that mileage, it is still just a days ride. If you have never been to Corbin it is a neat place to go to. Mike has came along way from doing these in his garage in Watsonville CA (the good ol' days)
This picture is part of his showroom, some diff. stuff to look at while you wait.
The enjoyable part should be riding home with a new seat and a happy behind.

Actually the seat that Don got does move you forward quite a bit.
That was the first thing I noticed when I sat on it.
If your 5"6 thats the same as myself, It should be pretty comfortable for you. :)

Thanks for the input.  Sounds like this is just what I need.  Once the seat is solved, all I need to do is move the floorboards, shift lever and brake peddles back! Next stop, the machine shop.

Thanks,
kym

Kym why dont you get a regular seat and install bars that have 2" or more pullback. Seems that that would be less of a pain than making all new brackets.
