This is pretty much true anywhere you go.

If the Doctor tells me I need to amutate my leg, I can guarantee you, I'll get a second opinion.

If I go to Home Depot and ask for assitance in the plumbing supplies, they'll send me a college chick with blonde hair and no knowledge of plumbing.

If I call AT&T about a problem with my telephone,....well---you know the drill.

I'm just saying, you better know what you're after whenever you go in. THANK GOD for CVOHARLEY.COM.  ;D

what if your boss told you, that you were a dumbass...? :nixweiss:

they do hire dummies, just warm bodies to try to take your cash, the owners of lots of these shop have not had to care much about your experince whlie at their store, because people were lined up to give them more money. It s on the dealership if they less than qualifed or interested people to fill jobs. But its on me if I am an uniformed consumer, knowing the lack of interest or expertise when I go to the local dealer here in Ft Myers, I show up with my own parts list of correct parts numbers. I own a factory manual and a factory parts book for bikes. Ususally the only time during the week I have to pick up parts is late on a Saturday or a Sunday afternoon. I also do all my own work, do the lack of caring and the lack of expertise in that department too, The sales staff....well with exception of guy there....in a word ""pathetic"   jmho :orange:

I'd start soaking up some knowledge in a hurry...but why would anybody who's not an enthusiast get a job at an H-D dealer, when there are plenty of places to work for those with a room-temp IQ?

Why do they hire dummies?  Probably because all the government jobs are already taken and we have an excess supply of dummies running around.  What would you rather have, a bunch of dummies staffing all the retail establishments, or more government?

You know how with some people, you can just look at them and you know the lights are on and nobody's home ?  I mean they have that slack mouth look where their brain doesn't engage enough to even tell their mouth to shut when it's not working. I just stopped by San Diego H-D to see if there was a single soul left I knew and the place was full of slack mouthed idiots with shirts that said staff on the back. Couple of well endowed ladies who've been there for a long time still over in clothing (and nice they are to look at) but every guy in the place looks like he's more than one brick short. I hadn't been in the place for several months and don't plan to stop again unless I break down on S-163 outside their door.

My dealership, same thing.

My rear pegs wouldn't stay up.   After several complaints, they had succeeded in making them looser.

I said "isn't there a bolt kit for these?"

Tech "Nope, they all fall down, just keep em down".

I walked over to parts, plucked the chrome bolt kit off the pegboard, and said "uh-huh."

I am worried about ever going there again if the techs are this incompetent.
