Henry, Henry

One more day till Thump comes home!

I think you need a sign in the garage for the return!

Welcome Home Thumper
            AKA
   "DITCH PICKLE"

"Ditch Pickle" gawd!, I like that name!

I may have jumped the gun with the Ditch Pickle thing. The folks in the Snow Belt call their Arctic Cat Snowmobiles “Ditch Pickles”. :cucumber: I hate to think what might happen if someone rode a Motorcycle named Ditch Pickle up North.  :behead:

Looky who decided to run her pretty butt home.........as Chip and dj call her...........The Ditch Pickle   :)

Thumper was a complete Sweetheart the whole way home.  She's restricted to no less than 2K RPM and no more than 3.5K RPM, but in the Baker OD6 sixth gear, at 3K RPM, she's effortlessly running 80 MPH, which is the perfect speed...............

But she's got alot more to give.

And her voice.........WOW!

117 cubic inches, 3.37:1 gearing, 6 speeds, alot of headwork, Bob Wood's TW408G cams, Timken bearing, S&S Forged wheels, and the skills of an expert made her into fine, nimble young lady.

It's good to have her home.

Per Rod's instructions, the moment we arrived, she went on the lift and was given an engine oil and filter change.  The old oil was virtually new looking after little more than 250 miles of life.  Drain plug magnet was CLEAN!  Temps on the way home were 215 at cruise, 230 city traffic with 62 degrees ambient.

She'll get another 750 miles on her.  Then I'll give her back to Rod, so he can work his magic on the dynamometer.  I'm thinking.......120s.........and I'll be very pleased with that.

Other side.  She's filthy!  Dirty Girl!  Been in a motorcycle shop around a bunch of rednecks for 3.5 months...........wait...........that's the kind of man she hangs out with anyway.  Oh well.

She'll get a good bath tomorrow.........after a hundred or so miles......of course.

Last one for now.  Youze guys will never see her this unclean again!  Unless we get caught in the rain.........and that's gonna happen.  Thump is a traveling machine.

I am so glad she is home!  I feel so much better knowing she is out there in the garage.

Of course......I rode the purple bike down to Hanceville today to pick up Thumper, so the two have only met in passing.  It'll be interesting to see how the two Girls get along as garage mates.  The purple bike is older, so will probably try to take the Alpha role.............but Thump is bigger and badder........and will likely slap the old lady down like a purple haired gothic stepchild!   :huepfenlol2:

So........there's an empty spot in the garage tonight........occupied by lawn equipment, since I've prepositioned the trailer (lawn equipment's normal storage area) down in Hanceville.  The purple bike is needing some new tires, carb work and few other nit-noid items.  She'll be home in a couple weeks................but I've got other plans for her!

Here endeth the saga of a sluggish Thumper!  She is no longer "Sluggish!"  She has been resurrected.  She is once again........the one and only DITCH PICKLE!   :huepfenjump3: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenjump3:

hehehe  Thank you, my friend!  I've been waiting for today for a LONG.......LONG........LONG time, Chip.  3.5 months is a long time to be without someone and/or something that means alot to you.  Tonight's celebratory beverages........Killian's Irish Red and Yuengling Black & Tan!

Come ride with me tomorrow.............I have the whole week off!   :cucumber:

Thank you, Sir!  The wait has been worth it so far.  Just finished reinstalling all the doo dads and what nots like my ride bell, throttle/idle cable adjuster covers, fuel fitting cover, neutral switch cover.  That All-Balls chrome starter is so fricken huge that I had to get after the neutral switch cover with a Dremel and a cutting wheel just to get it to fit.  Wiped her down..........she's pretty doggone messy, so she'll need a wash.  Seems like she just kept running better and better the whole way home...........like all the parts were "learning" to work together.  The tone is awesome.

Still can't hear any of this "noise" people talk about with Wood's cams...........either that or I do hear it, and I like it, therefore it is not "noise."
