But.... You'd probably like this one better in the rain!

No doubt.  They hit it out of the park when designing the Heavy Breather.  It is cool looking while significantly improving airflow into the engine.  It's the best breather I've found.  What more could you want ? Form and function !!  :huepfenjump3:

Everybody wants more HP/TQ.

Of the 3 Race Tuners I have spoke with, all seem to agree that the Heavy Breather produces the best numbers. Something about laminar flow and the lack of turbulence created by the flow through created in a 360 deg filter... not sure bout all that but..... what the hell, I got one....

And I was beginning to doubt that there was any reliable info out there ?

Very cool looking.  I was on the fence about that SE Fileter but those pictures and testomony sold me on it.  I go in for my 1k this week going to pick mine up.  I have a local builder who is pretty good with a power commander going to drill that cat, throw on the hi flow filter, and put in a power wing in the in the throttle body, and tune it, probably going to have to be in a month or two as the PC arent supposed to be out till Nov now.  Can't wait but the bike is so quick already but after hearing you guys talk about the big improvement.
Thanks for pics and info

I sure like the looks of that heavy breather.

How well will it work in the rain with the rain cover pictured?

Seems to me you would still injest water.

I believe it will work very well (probably even better than most if you use the cover).  The mesh on the cover is super small and it is covered with a slippery oil-like substance.  When washing the bike the water rolls off.  We also dyno'ed my bike with and without it.  We could not see any difference in performance.

Great work guys.  $.02:  Chicago HD on line ordering:

29253-08      KIT, HEAVY BREATHER, TBW   Retail Price:$299.95
                                                           Our Price:$239.96

Question:  Is the filter element on the Heavy breather paper or cotton (like a K & N)??  If so, the K & N is washable (HD says the paper ones are too but have you ever "washed" paper?).  A cotton filter element prepped with oil will be far better in the rain as the oil in the cotton works like the HD "rain sock."  Just curious....

Sorry for the dumb question but what is the black piece and is there anyway to get that piece chromed.  Looks little out of place amidst all that chrome and granite motor.

Greg, it is a K&N filter.  It is washable and you prep it with oil.
