Jim,
I've been admiring your bike for awhile now. I was at my local dealer yesterday and they had the same color glide that they wanted to sell me. My question for you is: How much for the color matched tour pack??? lowers?? and the windscreen?? Just asking as I would like to know what I can expect to pay for the extras after $33,000 for the bike.
TIA Gary
Gary, suffice of to say, H-D parts in general are expensive. CVO parts are even worse. The rear passenger floorboards, for example, were about $600. The Tour Pack and parts to mount it were in the $1K range. The lowers were about $600 + the quick disconnect kit and storage bag ($200). The lowers, by the way, are priced the same as a normal bike because they are vivid black on the Orange/Black SERG. The other color CVO's have custom paint on the lowers, which pushes the cost up to $800. I've also added a race tuner ($400), Fullsac baffles ($150), Heavy Breather ($300), Highway peg mounts ($100), Zumo GPS ($800), Factory HK GPS ($1000), Factory HK XM Radio ($500), HawgWired Amp/speakers ($1200), HID Lights ($150), Clearview shield ($150)...
I somewhere between $10-15K into the bike in addition to the $31K purchase. If the part is available, I've probably tried it. There are only a few items I've bought that were junk. The GPS for the HK is one of them, the KW windshields are another. The GPS is slow, it doesn't let you put in an actual street address (only takes you to the middle of the street/city unless it is a H-D dealer), it requires you to keep the NAV CD in the radio at all times, it doesn't have a moving map, you can't upload routes to it or program waypoints, etc. I've tried two KW shields (short and tall) and they look great, but are worthless on the highway. KW customer service and shipping department also sucks. I'll never buy anything from them ever again.
