Same here Brian, I love fresh water lakes that are no to big in size. I use to have a 95 Sweet 16 Donzi Classic with a 4.3 in it. For a stock motor it would run 62mph trimmed out on white caps.Use to love to take it on Lake Tarpon  (6 miles in length & a mile wide), on the most windiest days and jump waves fun.  ;D

Dave
Sebago Lake is fairly large. It is 12 miles long and 7 miles wide. It covers 45 square miles and has 105 miles of shoreline. It has a mean depth of 101 feet with the deepest section being 316 feet. Total volume of water estimated to be contained within the boundaries of Sebago is one trillion gallons. It is the public water supply for most of southern Maine. It is connected to Brandy Pond and Long Lake via the Songo River and the Songo River Locks. It's about a 50 mile trip from the lower end of Sebago to the far end of Long Lake. Makes for a fun day. Sebago can go from flat calm to 3 ft whitecaps in the blink of an eye. My "new" boat is a very deep high sided hull, perfect for use on Sebago or if I want to go striper fishing in Casco Bay, for that as well.

Always wanted a Donzi and the one you describe is one of my dreamboats. I believe Roger Jobs still owns one. Have always been a huge Donzi fan and Mark (MJZ) says his new 38 footer is a gem (even if AMF currently does own Donzi) Hogasm has or had a Donzi as well I believe. Maybe someday I'll find a sweet deal on a used one. Sure can't afford a new one. Anyway, I am hoping to have some of the New England CVO folks up for a weekend next summer so I've got to get all the toys in good working order.

That's the largest motor I've heard of on a pontoon boat. How does it handle the speed ?

B B

    PS
Really cool the way you Photoshopped me into the pic  ( 2nd from the left )
It handles good. About like you would expect for a 24 foot boat. It is fast enough to pull a skier.
Now, about the photoshop. Do you look like him for real, or do you just wish you were between the 2 chicks?

Ace thats bad ass.  :2vrolijk_21: What lake is that on ?   Looks familiar.

                     Dave
It is on a chain of lakes. We are on Big portage lake, Near Hell Michigan. There are 7 lakes on the chain. I think that if you had seen us before you would remember! We are the only Black boat on the chain. Ace

Don't know if I've ever seen anybody pull a skier behind a party barge. Yours is super cool looking though. No problem attracting a good looking crew either from the photo.

Normally when somebody points out a picture and says " hey is this you ? "  I don't see it, but I got a couple of PM's asking me if it were me, and I have to say from the vantage point of the camera it really looks like me.

Since this is a boat thread, I'll ask this question here.

Can anyone tell me the horsepower rating of a 4.3 l (262 CID) Chevy V-6 Marine Engine ?

Thanks

B B

My first boat was a 17 foot runabout with that motor. Don't remember the HP, but it's higher than what's rated for the cars due to less or lack of any smog/pollutions stuff. That was a great running boat and motor. Traded it for a much heavier boat with a V8 thinking it would be faster, but it wasn't. Too much weight to overcome.
