Re-Visited, because you asked! FullSac Insulated (Quiet) Baffle
« on: October 17, 2008, 11:46:40 PM »

Finally got around to putting the Ceramic Blanket on the baffles. First is a picture of the stock baffle with insulation

Fast Forward 3.16.10, I am getting 2.25 Fullsacs for my bike and the 1.75 Fullsacs are coming off. I will document with photos what the Quite baffles that have over 7000 miles look like. I'm trying a new Ceramic wrap this time, no complaints with the old wrap, just trying something new.

These baffles with the Mod I made are absolutely awesome! Fullsacs are great...Any question let me know,

I have rebuilt a D&D 2-2 as well.

It'll quiet it down a bit. It's like hitting a piece of pipe that is hollow, then hit with rubber wrapped around it or filled with dirt. It is basically disipating pressure from noise.

The baffles are still loud when you get into the throttle, but at idle and cruise you can barely hear them, as as matter of fact, I would have like to have got the 2 inch now that I can quiet them down.

What I don't know is how the Ceramic blanket will hold up.  I already know that regular insulation doesn't do well, so we'll see.

I got the material off of ebay for about $27.00

Interesting .  I have Samson's with no insulation What if I wrapped the baffles with this?  Would it affect my 4 stage muffler performance or just soften the sound???
