Great looking scooter.  Clean Look!

So just kinda curious..... if you don' mind, how much $$ do you think you have in the bike now?

KB - The 103" is such a strong platform it was an easy decision, plus I had 5 years experience with the 103 in my SEEG. For me the performance diffence wasn't worth the extra dough in the 103 vs 110. Bragging rights would've been cool, but the 103 is just so solid with so much potentail.

LRebel - Cost was pretty high. I got 20% of parts and 10% off labor, but still came in pretty pricey. Put it this way...cost is relative if you're really happy with your choice(s). We had an '09 SERG on order, but I'm not quite ready for it's fairing set-up, prefering the flht fairings. With all I've done, which is a two page build sheet, I've got 2009 SERG MSRP in this bike. Will I ever get that back out if I sell..? Nope!!. But I will get joy dividends everytime I fire it up and hit the road.

I was thinking about doing that as well. Build up a bike to make it "CVO" enough without the full CVO sticker price.

Looks great!

Thanks for the info.  I was wondering how the cost of your build compared to the price tag on a CVO bike.  Your numbers are what I suspected.

Phattey,

Very nice ride!  Congratulations!  I think it's great to have one that you did rather that a "factory" job, even if it it a "factory custom."  My "04 RG was like that: 103" Crate Motor, six speed, and all the goodies.  Went with a SERG this time because I liked it and insurance & resale issues.  Still want changes though.  Thinking about some pin striping / accents.  A one-off bike is very hard to value if wrecked, stolen or even sold.  Recommend that you photograph as you have, keep all receipts and, if you can, get an appraisal...  Most of all though, enjoy that sweet ride!

It's like the Porsche slogan.."There's no substitute". There really is no substitute for a CVO either, but the '09s didn't have what I wanted so my flhx happened.

Trying to make another bike a CVO by buying everything MOCO makes for it, isn't going to get you there and you'll lose big time financially at re-sell. Build the look & performance you want and be happy, till MOCO comes up with another winner..that's my approach this time around..

Agree!!! We put the $$$ into em whether they're CVO's or not! Not meant as investments in anything but your soul!!! You build em to make ya happy! And if yer lucky and get it right, there's no better feeling in the world than riding and owning it! No matter what ya ride or how much ya spent, as long as your happy with it, WTF cares!!! :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: ;)

There aren't too many CVO bikes out there that are left stock either, mine included. Chit, I wouldn't come close to getting my return back. The days of getting what you got for your bike new sans extras are over. your bike looks good and the smile that we get when on our rides is priceless. Thats the only thing all of us are really after.THE MUFFMAN
