It is usually a repeat of the 10,000 mile service with additional adjustments they can charge for...DOH! do they charge for scratching?

Mine charged the base rate the scheduled service (XXX mile service = $XXX labor) even though I didn't have them change engine oil and have sealed wheel bearings in my Evo Fat Boy.  No new scratches that I've seen, but they did get water in the saddlebags for me.

You can always go here - Service Check-Up put in your VIN and mileage and it will tell you what is "supposed" to be done. Just put in something below 20K (19,000) so it will give you what is needed for the 20k service.

Thinkin the same thing Mark.    :)

There is a whole list of things to be done, but if you don't stand there and watch them do every item, they only do a few but charge you for all of them.

Just ask JR about the fuel filter change that was supposed to be done at 25K miles.  Dealer thought it didn't need done and then later had to be towed in.

If you are mechanically inclined, can read, and have the manual, you can do it yourself.  At least you know what was done.

Right.  And if you should f*** it up you can always take it to the dealer and pay what you would have paid anyway and this time you know for sure that they did do the work!

You have to pay extra for the Windshield Bushings and trunk Lube, In all seriousness it is for the most part an inspection that seems a lot if you tackle it all at once, but if you  mark it off and do several things at a time it is fairly easy to accomplish, your paying to check cruise control components, Air Suspension etc. Things that the normal rider does on a routine basis anyway.

This is the most extensive "service".  Our local dealer charges about $640 for the job.  (Approx. twice what my dad paid for my first (used) motorcycle.  I believe it's over $1,000 for this service on a V-rod!!   :'(
