Rest it for sure. Alternate hot and cold. Can't remember the smelly stuff we used to use to spread on muscle aches / pulls when we were younger. Was really he!! when someone put it in your jock.

You can get a shot of cortizone, but you are better off resting it. Ice will also help, heat just inflames the joints more. Motrin seems to work the best for me...best of luck!

Thanks much. The Dr did mention the cortizone but after I take all this ibuprofen first for two weeks or longer. I usually only take ibu for headaches.  I wonder how Aleve is - I've never taken it, nor Motrin. I will do better resting it now, especially now that I know what it is.

many sessions of massage therapy cured my tennis elbow, it was caused by a trapped nerve in my shoulder!

i had had the cortizone and ibuprofen  treatments previous years, it was also suggested that they could cut the nerve so i couldnt feel it anymore, but hey if i^m in pain i wanna know about it
resting it helps but massage cured it.

Motrin=ibuprofin, usually 200mg tablets.  I have taken 800mg as prescribed by a doc once...also, our dentist (and Anne) are believers in the pain relieving properties when Tylenol (Acetaminophen) and Motin (Ibuprophin) are combined in a specific dose of each.

not sure of the amounts of each...

I did?  Kewl.  Yeah, ride more, play tennis less.  After all, what did that little round fuzzy tennis ball ever do to you?

I had a problem with tennis elbow about 10 years ago.  I mentioned it to my doc while in for something else.  Doc gave me one of the elbow brace/strap things and made a huge difference in the pain.  Doc also gave me some exercises to do and after about a month all the pain was gone and have not had any problems since.

I to used the brace, I couldn't lift more than 10lb in a curl motion without great pain. The brace helped a lot, I wore it for about 4 months, now I don't have any problems. Ibuprofen works well on inflammation, more than headaches. I had a pinched nerve in my lower back while on a long bike trip, Ibuprofen we all that helped me. As a last resort, switch hands!  :P
