what toy do you want?
« on: October 30, 2008, 10:36:44 PM »

If you had your choice and wanted to get an engine to play with on the bench, would you get the X-Wedge, or other S&S, RevTech, Ultima, TP, R&R, etc?? I'm leaning towards the X-Wedge, but also kinda like RevTech. Oh, and what size also?

If money was no object, I'd take the Total Performance 124. Hands down the best engine on the market in my humble opinion.

Patrick Racing makes the prettiest engines, but TP makes the best

IMHO

My dream "toy" is Hoist's JOY. I want her lots: in my night and day dreams. I just WANTS 'er. Can't help myself. You guys can have all the big muscle stuff. I just want that "little" lady with all that power stuffed in her diminutive ovaries.

I answered the original post on this thread as it was asked, but to answer the question posed by the title of the thread. I am looking for an old mahogany Christ Craft boat to restore. Something in the 20 ft range built in the 40's or 50's. I grew up around boats, worked for a shipbuilder most of my adult life and have always loved being out on the water. My two life's hobbies have been motorcycles and boats. We had a boat when the kids were younger but sold it when we moved to California in Jan 98. Now the kids are grown, I'm retired and will be spending summers living on a lake, so I've got another boat. As noted elsewhere I am doing a bunch of R&R to that but I dream of owning one of those gorgeous old mahogany rubabouts. If you've never seen one, log onto www.woodenboats.com.

I would stay away from Revtech.  I'm torn otherwise.

As for engine other than those for motorcycles, what else:  Cummins Turbo Diesel!   :2vrolijk_21:

Well GE 700 T 701D is a pretty cool engine too
