You need to bore the cases for the 4.06" bore of the 113. The 110 is a 4" bore. You can do it, but you must diasssemble the entire engine to do the work on the cases. That's when you get a REAL crank and put the Timken in too. Otherwise, without spiltting cases, you're stuck with 110". ;)

I'm not sure at the moment where my 09 SE catalouge got off to, but if memory serves me correctly the 110 race kit with the 260 cams heads and what not made close to the same power. So since you have the four inch bore already I wouldn't spend the money to rebore the cases to do 113.

the 110 uses an o-ring to seal the cylinder/case joint, and has a groove for the o-ring...the 113 uses a base gasket, which cannot seal to an o-ring groove...if you really want to do it, axtell has a fix...but why go to such trouble and expense to gain 3 inches?

axtell sales has 117 kits....headwork, cams, cylinders, pistons, case machining, etc...it's expensive and works really well...or you could keep your stock cylinders and pistons, have your heads reworked by someone like baisley high-performance, hillside cycle, dewey's heads, etc...the man who ports your heads can recommend cams, exhaust, and tuning device...this is what I did with my '08 fxdse2 and got 115hp/115tq...9k miles and no problems

If Axtell makes 4" pistons and cylinders for 4-5/8" stroke, that's 116" and you wouldn't need to bore the cases. S&S doesn't make those 4" stroker pistons. If not, the Axtell 117 kit, which I think is a 4-1/8" bore with stock 4-3/8" stroke, is supposed to be really nice too. That would allow you to keep and weld your crank if ya wanted to. But you'd need bore the cases. Might want to think about a new crank anyway. An S&S crank and a Timken, Axtells, some good head work and the right cams, bigger throttle body and exhaust, and a great tune, you'll have one real sweet riding machine! After all, this chit ain't rocket science! ;D ;) :2vrolijk_21:

4&5/8 stroke requires longer cylinders and possibly case machining

Yes, and I wasn't even sure they made them either. But if they did, I didn't see why the cases would need machining. Still 4" bore. As long as it fits in the frame, the cases should be OK, no? :confused5:

Howie...more clearance for the longer rods and crank throw...  (remember where your piston skirts hit...in that area of the cases...)  no machining needed for the bore, just to accomodate the stroke...   :2vrolijk_21:

with an flhr, I would not use the se260 cam...it will be very sluggish below 3500 rpm...in fact, the biggest cam I like in a bagger 110 is se251 and only if you use the 58mm throttle body...the stock throttle body is not a good match for any cam with later than 42 degree intake close...also I do not recommend the s.e. heads...have your stock heads blueprinted by a pro, probably won't be able to get a dealer to do it correctly...I like "dewey's heads" for blueprinting...also, it is best to use .030" head gaskets, and dealers usually want to use a thicker one...also the cylinders probably need to be shortened to correct the deck height...we are seeing that pistons are an average of .009" down the hole on cvo 110" motors...you can insist that they build your motor correctly, and the power increase will be significant versus the dealer "upgrade" plan or the "pro" kits...the se251 cams will want compression set to around 10.3 for a conservative, "no ping" motor, maybe a little more if tuning will be spot-on

If you are having Joe's cycle tune the bike ensure that he tunes both cylinders.   and before you decide to have him do the tuning ensure that he will print out your dyno sheets in SAE and in STD as well as raw form.   that way you have something to use as a comparison and
