The black & silver markers came from Home Depot. The red, came from a hobby store. They seem to hold up to heat pretty well. You can buy most colors from the hobby stores that carrry model paint. I keep an assortment of them...White for my enclosed trailer, the silver and black work on the bike & trailer, red was for my Wheel Horse tractor, I still have orange for my Kubota. Kept the markers, sold the tractor and Back-Hoe. I moved to Florida, I have a landscaper now...lol.

I noticed a commercial the other day, one of the touch up paint companies has released a new product. I cannot remember the manufacturer, I dont believe it to be duplicolor, but they have the typical brush and a ball point pen style tip in the cap. Ill be looking into this more...

As I read this thread I have to chuckle at myself.  I noticed the red lettering on Otis at Maggie Valley, and then (can't remember whose bike) another set of heads on which the numerals "103" were in orange, but "Screamin' Eagle" were still unpainted.  I was walking around thinking that this touch must be unique to CVO bikes, varying by year and model, or maybe these heads were set up to some higher level of performance (I'm sure Otis' are).  I would never have guessed that the owners were doing this themselves.  Guess that's how good it looked to me.
