2 wheels = fun

No matter how you get there.

I still have a CRF450 that I take to the motocross tracks to remind myself how old and slow I am...but it is fun
I have ridden sport bikes up to 160mph...that was fun
I ride my daughters TTR 50 around my house and look like a clown, bald huge guy on a little bike...it is fun

I ride my USE4 because it is fun...it does not remind me how old and slow I am, it is not the fastest thing on the road and I dont expect it to be, but it fits me just right.

I never met a motorcycle I did not like.
I never met a motorcycle rider who did not know how to have fun.[/

100mph is ALL I need out of my Harley -- and that's on rare occasion.  I've been much faster in German vehicles built to handle the speed, but the surroundings go by SO fast you really can't see or react quick enough to avoid a disaster.

Not why I bought a Harley anyway.

In my younger years, yes the fast bikes were great.....I was indestructible, or it appeared that way. I did the flat track thing for a time to be able to really push the limits. After a few, (ok,...more than a few) wrecks I think I've obtained at least some wisdom. I'm old, parts hurt and I have less brain cells which some say makes a person wiser.

Funny how you start thinking about the all mighty when you get old and closer to death!  Anyway, long story short, I have a Geezer Ultra Harley with attitude, which adds to my current personality. Yes, I'm Ugly, Proud and slowed down to enjoying life. And it's nice to smell and feel the surroundings as I'm riding through the countryside. Something to be said about that!

Agreed!  The more I have ridden, the more I like to ride.  It's therapy.  Ricers are great for about 30 minutes, assuming you don't kill yourself or someone.  My Gecko is great to show off for about 100 miles.  I once did 400 in a day and hurt all night.  My SERG can go all day and it feels great!

I've had my fair share of bikes with most of them being Harleys. The last thing I'd ever do is feel bad about a sport bike blowing my Harley's doors off, especially at 100mph plus roll on(wait a minute...Harleys don't have doors??????). At one time I had a Buell Firestorm and I doubt we'd be clanging glasses celebrating victory if I was tellin' the tale of eating a Wing. But the good news is we'd still be clanging glasses! The beauty of brothers in the Wind!

Yes, I know what that's like, but it's worse, getting spanked by a big old Goldwing!
My buddy does it all the time with his STOCK Wing. I too have a stock Wing, and
love doing it to all my buddies with (just like me), our optioned out SEUC's.

Tazmun,

There are a few FLH's on this site that enjoy toying with the Goldwings :)  The look on their faces are definitely priceless when I do it .

Last night I showed Nemo to a friend of a friend.  He just stood there slack jawed and said wow.  What a wonderful feeling to be the owner of a bike that made someone speechless.

Of course 18 years ago I stood looking over a rice rocket, slack jawed and speechless and just said wow...  I wonder if they'll find all his parts to bury together....

There is no public road anywhere in the U.S.A. where 150 is safe.  We're not talking about Ralph Nadar safe here... I'm talking at that speed you can't see a blemish in the road or a small animal in the grass.  No vision or time to react.  If you miss it, it will kill you.

To each there own bros, but I'll take style over speed any day of the week.

Ride Safe,
J-Carr

Yup.....Room for both. That little black bike in my Sig. is a 07 1250cc Suzuki Bandit. About 175mph out of the box. I know it will go 110 in second gear. 6 speed. And it gets there right now. However I won't be giving up my Ultra any time soon. Sort of like having the Cadillac and the Corvette to choose from.

It's more fun to play with some young buck on a low rider w/o a windshield though. Watching their cheeks slap against their face, and their shirt collar beat them to submission, they'll generally back off after 25 miles or so. Then, twist it up a little more.

You had the right bike for the wrong race.

A couple of years ago I sitting at a red light on my Ultra when a guy on a REALLY FAST Japanese bike pulls up in the next lane. He says to me in a loud threatening voice "Wanna Race?". Everyone at the intersection is looking at us while he revs his engine. I say to him in a clear calm voice, "Sure, the first one to Florida wins!". Everyone in their cars busts out laughing and he knew they were laughing AT him. The light turned green and he raced off like an IDIOT banging gears. I rode off with traffic.

Next time pick the right kind of race.

I'm not shook by getting dusted by rice (much anyway). Another H. D. though is a different story.
