Well, it wasn't exactly my 1st ride of the year but it was the 1st on my SEEG. I rode a little last Sat then pretty much all day Sun for a total of 110 miles. That used 4.8 gallons of fuel. I hope the gas milage gets better! lol
I was a little disappointed in the power (or lack of) compared to my 95" wide glide. In all fairness, I didn't really pin the throttle to the stops yet either. The stock pipes started getting their nice deep tone to 'em by the end of the ride tho. I guess I should add that I think I could get spoiled on the CD player really easy! Oh and JCZ .... I even used the saddle bags! I guess they do come in handy. At least now and then ........ LMAO!
I got a good laugh at this post. It brought back some memories. When I first switched from the Heritage to my first Ultra Classic (in about 1992) I just couldn't feel the power. Then I rode beside the same Heritage and he pulled away from me, but not like I would have thought. We talked about it, when we stopped. He reminded me, "afterall, you do have a full fairing in front of you, so you're not going to feel it the same". I can tell you that for a stock motor (after riding AK's SEEG a couple weeks ago) that that bike has good power for being totally stock. Which means it will be even greater with the High Flow Air Cleaner, exhaust and Race Tuner.
Saddle bags will take care of theirselves, as time goes along, you'll wonder how you ever lived without them.......the stereo too. How did I ride for decades and 100s of thousands of miles with no music?

One example of the bags.......how many times have you been to a run or taken a ride someplace and thought "I wouldn't mind buying that, but I don't want to have to carry it around all day and somebody will steel it off the bike"......now you can just lock it in the saddlebags. Of course all your buddys think that those bags are for them, too.....if you don't get clear about it right up front. Just sharing experience with you brother. [smiley=beerchug.gif] But if you ever find that you don't need any of those extra parts (bags, stereo) I'll be happy to pay shipping and I'll take em off your hands. Those lower leg fairings are probably in your way, too.....might as well throw those in, too. lol
