chrome mags
« on: August 18, 2005, 10:41:37 PM »

Cleaning my mags I noticed that the chrome is coming off.  I took it to the dealer and they are going to replace the mags.

Any one else had this problem?  Check close....

Alright eveyone, be nice to bbrown, he's new. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

b, welcome to the board!  Do a search on "peeling chrome."  Set the search criteria to go back 730 days or so (2 years), and tell it you want 500 (maybe more [smiley=nixweiss.gif]) results.  In other words, yes, lots of us have had this problem and it's documented well here in many, many posts.

Another problematic area is the floorboards.  Check close....

have there been problems with the 05s also?

Much less so.  And it seems to have been a few of the small bits and not the wheels.  But our 05s have seemed pretty "normal."

Oh....?   You're still trying to adhere to the HD service memo that said to catch all the pieces so you can super glue them back on?  [smiley=7.gif]

His might be the exception for having lasted as long as it has.  Welcome aboard.  If misery loves company you'll have a blast here.  At times it seems like every 04 ever made or even dreamed of has had it's wheels go flakey (and other parts as well).
