It's time for a new SEEG model........
« on: November 19, 2008, 11:38:34 AM »

After spending some time on Terrie's new Street Glide....experiencing the new bagger frame, suspension, ABS brakes, etc. I'm thinking it's time for a new Screamin Eagle Electra Glide model.

I just had to test it all and I am very impressed with the new frame and suspesion as well as the ABS.....just an incredable difference.  Any one of these alone would be a marked improvement but putting it all together in one package makes it a different package from the baggers I've ridden in the past.

So, let's begin here.  The new model SEEG would, of course, be on the new frame with ABS and it would have a King Tour Pack that's quick release.  It would also have XM/Cirrus and GPS as a stock item on the SEEG.

What else shoud it have as stock?

Yeap, guys have been SEEGifying the Ultras for years now making the tour paks detachable.  Teh few other small variances are just widgets and doodads that might be added on or not.  Anyone can go get a new SEEG right now.  Buy an Ultra, take off the tour pak, lose the amp and mount a HawgWired amp instead.  Voila, updated 04 SEEG.  Put the tour pak back on and, presto chango, updated 05 SEEG.  Get the red Ultra and it even looks almost as good too.

Are you forgetting the 110" motor (I'd like to) hydraulic clutch, etc?

No.  Just considered that part of the upgrade/evolution of the overall package.  If we close our eyes and imagine Santa bringing more SEEGs year after year the 05 package didn't leave a lot of room to add things from.  So a larger engine would be on its path.  SEEGs already had the hydraulic clutch too.

More SEEGs.  What a pleasant thought.....

No......a very nice looking bike and it would be a candidate for a "second bike".  However, I've heard from several (Andy and Don) that own both that it's a lot more windy than the SEEGs.  I have to keep the batwing fairing as a first ride.

That's a bit of a surprise when thinking about the old SERG as a comparision.  With a properly sized wind screen the old SERG provides a seating zone every bit as clear of turbulence and wind noise as the SEEG with a similarly appropriately sized windshield.  Longest run the SEEG has made was only the 800 mile days back and forth to MV.  But on that bike those weren't bad days in the saddle at all.
