new and wondering

hello all, as you can see I am new to the group, put my deposit on a 09 CVO Roadglide yesterday and today I got my jan 09 issue of American Iron mag in the mail with a headline about a critical gasket failure in the 110 ci Screamn eagle motor after only a couple thousand miles! I am not going to spend 30+k on a bike with known motor problems so I thought I would go to the best source I know, CVO owners, and see if anyone else has heard of or experienced oil  leaks in their 09 CVO's  Any help would be great! Thanks

Leaks have been a problem on 07 & 08's.  Leaks on the 09's.....  :nixweiss: Don't know yet.  Have not heard of any problems yet.

The 07 & 08's are part of a "product improvement" program by the MoCo.  "New & Improved" gaskets and replacement heads for some.  The new improved stuff is on all of the 09's, so hopefully there will be no problems.  Don't worry... buy the extended warranty and ride it.

Thanks for the info lrebel ! Sounds like a plan to me! I am in Southern Maryland  by the way, already have some great trips planned on the glide!  thanks again

Welcome to the site, navdav51  !!  Pay you money and take your chances!  2300 miles on my SERG 3.  No motor issues yet.  A couple of irritations:  Small leak in oil cooler adapter due to crimped O Ring.  Paint peeling from black starter (nothing more chrome can't fix).  BTW, yellow is cool   :huepfenjump3:   :huepfenjump3:   :huepfenjump3:

Welcome to the CVO site from Washington State. :bananarock: For 2 years the 110 has had a number of problems not sure about the 09's yet.

I have heard of no motor problems on the 2009 110's.  Seems as though they may now have it right.  But if there are any problems in the future, you came to the right place to learn all about it!
