2008 engine vs 2009 engine
« on: December 03, 2008, 10:48:46 AM »

I need to know if the 2008 96ci engine is the same size as the 2009 96 ci engine, as for as crankcase physical size.  Also would this crankcase be the same as the 2008 and 2009 110 ci engine size.  I am trying to purchase a Kurakyn inner primary case cover and cylinder base cover for a 2009 Ultra Classic SE.  Kurakyn tells me that their covers for the 2008 will fit the 2009 without any problem,  but they haven't checked it to fit the SE 110.  So with all this said, I was curious if the bottom end of the engine of a 2009 110 was the same as a 2008 96.

Looking forward to seeing the pics.  I was thinking of going the same route, rather than replacing the inner primary this time around.

I think I saw somewhere...probably on Kuryakyn's website...that the cylinder base cover won't fit the 110 engine.  Please let us know your results and pics if you went ahead with this.

Ok,  Sorry I took so long to post the pic's.  Just completely forgot.  But anyway.  The Kury covers fit with no problems.  bolted right up, perfect fit.

It's hard to see what's on there.  It looks like the Kury inner primary chrome cover and the Kury head base cover.  Is that correct?  Also, how far back does the inner primary cover extend to?  Without the exhaust coming down through there, I would think the cover would need to go further back that they used to.

You are correct !  they are both the Kury covers.  So much shiny stuff it is hard to tell isn't it.  I will take some more Pic's tonight and post them tomorrow.  I'll try and get a better view for ya.
