We actually built the house around the theater. Added two additional course of block to the foundation so the basement wouldn't seem confined. Ceiling in the back of the room is over 8ft.

Started with the original 4 movie seats in front 18 years ago and added the riser and the leather recliners a few years ago. Another work in progress.

My avocation is helping others spend money on electronics. Have consulted on numerous theater build-outs. Nothing like 4,400 watts of power driving 5 custom built speakers and an 18" sub. Favorite winter past time is listening to one of the many great concerts at near ear splitting levels. Loud speakers save lives!

Never happen Spyd. New electronics (Blu ray, DTS and Dolby Master Audio specs, etc) require constant application of $'s. Purchased the Blade Runner Special Edition on Blu Ray, probably the 10th time I've purchased that movie in various formats (VHS, Laser Disc, DVD, Blu Ray, special editions, directors cuts, etc).
