I can do that, NP,  HOWEVER .... my wife has the camera and she is up in MI right now and wont' be home until about 12/22 ..... so everyone will have to wait til then.

I can, and will,  look through some of my album and see if there is anything that looks 'close up' of the bars .... but I doubt it.

I will take pics and post up straight away after Jan gets home....... sorry for the delay.

Quite interesting use of those bars Mike. You used the bars themselves as pullbacks to get the position you wanted. Those bars are usually parallel with the for legs or straight up. They're the closet thing to apes HD uses stock. Interesting appproach to your pullback dilemma. I had the same issue, but chose 12.5" bars instead and keep em straighter up. I have a friend that had custom 14" pullback risers made for his so he can run drag bars on his. No easy solution on an FXR without pullbacks, tall bars, or being really tall yourself! ;) :2vrolijk_21:

Quite interesting use of those bars Mike.
Thank you :D

I did, and I've tried them in many different angles, always wind up right back where they are now.  I'd like to have them even another 1-2 inches closer to me, it would be just a tad more comfortable.

Those bars are usually parallel with the for legs or straight up.
Yes, that's the way one usually installs them, and how you see them on most all bikes

They're the closet thing to apes HD uses stock.
Yes they are

Interesting appproach to your pullback dilemma.
Yeah, I couldn't find another way to get them back to me.  Back in the 70's I ran an KZ650 and then you could get things called 'set backs'. They bolted into the slot for the bars, then extended toward the driver, and then there was another slot for the handlebars to go into, with another top clamp....... I'd love to find those now for my FXR  !!!!!

Ye man...Your like me in a way that I pretty much always like to use the pullback of the bars to get my comfy spot rather than risers or such. Those I know aren't buckhorns but close to that look in proximity. I had bucks on mine after I first bought my bike and they were comfortable but looked like S^&*T. So I put on the Sportster bars that are on now and I think they look really great and they were comfortable for a while. Now though for the past month or so I have been having quite a bit of pain in my right shoulder and wrist which I never had with the Bucks. So, now I'm actually thinking again of putting another set on and say screw the looks and ride pain free instead. Been taking a gander at some Flanders bars with an 8" rise, 32" width, 12 1/2 " pullback, and 7 1/2 center. They ain't bucks, but they sit sorta half way up between the bucks and apes. Don't know yet though; gonna ride another month or so and see....I do know this much; my shoulders and wrists never ached like this until I put the Sportster bars on.   OK...Just rambling now...I'll see If I can find those Flanders bars and post a pic.  :2vrolijk_21:

Found pic but can't get to load properly; here's the link and they are called...Superglide Plus 2" Taller Bars E7

The pics just make the look close to bucks, in person there really isn't any 'close' look to the bucks

I know what you mean about riding pain free .. these are the second set of bars, after stock, that I've had on the bike. I was pretty lucky when I put these on. I've been riding with them for about 7 years.  If I could get them closer, I would .... I like to lean back on my gear when I'm 'packed up' on a trip.  It helps take the weight off of certain spots and gives you more room to mover around a bit in the saddle.

Having the highway pegs I don't feel the need for forward controls. I like the looks of forwards, but I don't ever expect to see them on my bike. With the mid bike controls and highway pegs there's lots of places to put your feet.  I ride a lot of the time with my heels hooked over the passenger pegs  :huepfenlol2:

Good luck in your search for the 'perfect handlebar'    :drink:
