When installing the true duals do you get to select the type of mufflers or do you get the BUB 7's by default ?

I have them on my 08 duracell.  You have the choice of installing them to meet the contour of your saddle bags, or slash downward, and thats about it.  I got great performance with a SERT and the Bub 7s, but they are loud.

Bub was suppose to come out with a quieter baffle this winter, have you heard anything yet?  I like it loud but this is a little too loud so I'm looking to muffle it a bit.

I haven't heard anything.......but since I'm not a BUB or Rinehart fan, I don't really follow them closely......literally and/or figuratively.  I've always thought they were aggressively loud.........too much for distance riding.

It's not bad just crusin' around at a constant speed but when you open it up, everybody knows.  We went on a 4500 mile trip last summer, I had to wear ear plugs.

Yep.......I've ridden behind bikes with 'em, and had to back way off.  There's a definite "buzz" after a long ride.

I love my Supper Trap 2:1, Got it tuned nice and quite and good performance too.  :2vrolijk_21: If you want quiet and performance, it don't get much better with a Supper Trap. But AHH, did I say anything about looks???  :-\ The Supper Traps don't win anything in that department.  :nervous:

I've got them on my '08. Maybe my ears are going, because I didn't think they were that loud. Much better sounding than Reinharts IMHO. They were louder on a 110" than the 96" I initially heard them on.

Oh.........they do sound good..........real good.  No doubt about that, but even my shot ears take a beating riding behind a set.

I never rode behind a set, so you may be right. I guess the key is to always ride at the front of the pack  ;)

Yup!
I have ridden a bike with a set of Rineharts with bigger (open) baffles from Panama City Beach, FL to Enterprise, AL............about 90 miles.  When I got home, my head was ringing.

Not good - means you are damaging your hearing.  Wish I'd been smart enough to wear ear plugs years ago.  Maybe I would have saved some of my hearing.
