Great feedback from all...the one option I don't have is to keep the 07 and the get the 09.  The better half was clear only one at a time until I retire.  The only problem with that is if I retired I couldn't afford the new one.  This is just adding complexity to the issue.  Buy an 09 work a little longer...retire and keep the 07.  I guess the only logical answer to the question is to:

FLIP A COIN

Pretty simple.  Buy it and THEN retire.  :2vrolijk_21:

If you really want it, BUY IT! You will kick yourself in the a$$ everyday if you don't buy it.
Nothing worse than being retired and all you do is kick yourself in the a$$. ;D

If you are anything like me, once you get the itch, you know you are going to do it eventually, so quit beating yourself up.  Git'r'dun!  I took a beating on my 07 Road King that I socked 30 some thousand into, and the only regret I have is that I couldn't keep both bikes.  If you aren't going through with it, don't take a test ride on an 09.  Once you've ridden an 09, you won't be able to walk away without one.  The handling difference is quite noticeable.

Keep what you have and save the difference for a "rainy day" I think we are going to see several of them before things get much better. You have a nice bike and it will do everything a new one would do.

True dat! :2vrolijk_21:

Ya know, we're in late Dec. and no reported issues with the 09's yet, that I've heard of.  I think this is a record already. :nixweiss:  And, the factory warranty on Terrie's 09 Street Glide is two and a half years! :2vrolijk_21:

Seems to me if you have to ask you probably shouldn't.  Just my humble opinion.

The new engine mounting, frame, and improved gear ratios make the 09's an awesome ride, get it now.

BUY IT.  Quit whining like a little girl (JK).  :huepfenlol2:

Its a great investment - even after depreciation, mine's holding value a lot better than my 401k.

cheers!

Hang on just a bit. The smaller market dealers have yet to get their CVO's. When those hit the showroom floor in some out of the way places, you should be able to make a deal and get low interest financing if you need it. I'd hang on until late January / early February if I were you

Thanks for all the feedback, insights and input.  My local dealer has one scheduled to arrive at the end of January.  I plan to wait until after the first and hopefully make him a deal he can't refuse.  Maybe sanity will take hold over the holidays, but I doubt it....I'm dreaming of a silver and blue Christmas...or I should say a silver and blue new year.  Happy Holidays to all may you and your families have a great holiday.

in about 6 short months the 2010's will be out and the 09's- a year old. It's funny how quick we forget about last years models.
