We knew that our second grandchild was on the way, but my son and daughter-in-law waited until Christmas to surprise us with the report on boy or girl.  It's a boy!  We've got a grandson on the way.  The due date is 05/12/09, so my plans for the Eureka Springs gathering are tentative.

Bring him!

That's a wonderful idea Howie.  Really nice.  Nice to see the family enjoyed the concept also.

Happy New Year buddy.  See you in May if not before :2vrolijk_21: .

The family really is touched by the generosity of my friends here. In ways that could only be conveyed with eyes on. Was a lot of emotion. Hope all that helped understand how they've touched the lives of complete strangers. For the young I'd like to believe important lessons were learned!!

Happy New Year Don. Looking forward to tellin' lies with you soon.

Howie sounds like your Christmas was a memorable one filled with love! Praise God! Holidays can be hard but it is part of the healing process. Your family has been dealt a loss but in the process has experienced Gods love. Unconditional, Agape love from strangers who offered up their prayers, resources, and time for your family and the efforts didn't go void! You have received a blessing and a lesson in love that you and your family can spread to others. God Bless you my friend and may this year be filled with an abundance of Gods love and provisions! Take care Howie!

For Christmas we made the CVO Coin into a tree ornament. We provided one to the entire family including nieces and nephew. On the back of the ornament we included a brief history of how Sean, AJ, and the rest of our friends here pitched in to help our family. It was well received with an overwhelming sense of emotion. Dad was missed but this gift brought him to our gathering in a way I can't seem to find the words to describe.

Many thanks to all my friends here. You have all helped in ways that can't be measured. It was a great feeling to stand in front of the Christmas tree and the family and explain how thoughtful you all are. The look on everyone's face  and the reaction that followed was priceless.

Merry Christmas

Howie

Howie,
This has to be the best Christmas present I received!
Thanks for sharing, and may you have a blessed and Happy New Year!

Howie,
That is the true Christmas gift.  The gift of giving and of joy.  I'm sure this was a hard Christmas for all, but if there was anyway that we made your family's a little brighter, then it was all for the good. :)  Your description brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face, that I was able to be but a small part of giving something to your family.  God bless you and your family.

In our family we celebrate the birth of Jesus and then we share gifts. Our gifts are limited or not needed at all. For years when we were younger and fianacially challenged we went way overboard on buying gifts at Christmas. It would get to the point to just buy something to put a gift under the tree. Then the bills would come in and the credit card bondage begain.

Thank God I no longer live in credit card bondage! We have Christmas all year long! If I want to take a CVO trip, take my wife out, buy something for the kids or grand kids, it's all year long! We don't put pressure on gifts at Christmas. If I have an abundance at this time I share it with the kids for their new family's.

This year was a special one for me too! My wife had to go and buy me something this year even though we said "Only for the Kids." I got a new coffee maker but that's not what made it special. I received a daughter to the family. My youngest son asked her to marry him. We had a time of celebration with both family's. The last of my three to get married! What a special Blessing this was for our Christmas this year. Happy New year to you all!

JR,
What a great gift to receive anytime of the year, but Christmas makes it so much better.
God Bless you and yours.
The best to you and your growing family for the New Year!

My wife got me a gardian bell. Now I am not supersticious but I know if I don't put it on the bike somewhere something will happen to me but not from the road, it will happen form my wife. Anyone have any idea where [on the bike] I should hang it?

I hear ya buddy! I received one from MJZ! I don't believe in what it is suppose to do, but I was thankful that a friend thought of me to give me a gift. I mounted it with a plastic tie under right lower, tied off of crash bar!

Exactly where I put mine on the SEEG, JR.  Still there too.  I can't hear it above all the other 'noises', so that's good......just adds to the music.  And who knows about the superstitions......the local techs claim that almost all the wrecked scooters that come in have a ride bell attached. :-\ :'(  har!  :) spyder

I'm glad LarryB didn't get chaps for Christmas!

Preston,
Thank you SO much for THAT visual. Maybe a few episodes of " The Girls Next Door " will get it out of my head
