I called my dealer here (GA) concerning this, they called MOCO........... they were advised not covered but they were aware that MOCO did make a running change on PN 50096-09 because of this problem..... but they advised them that it would NOT be covered under warrenty.  Well I DID NOT feel that was exceptable, if it was not a problem why would they make a  running change! I then called MOCO cus. ser. explained to situation, they got the dealer on the line, it was determined THE PART IS COVERED.

So if you have received delivery prior to Sep. 2nd (that's when I got my bike), then most likely you have a stand that does permit the bike to lean too far, HD will replace it at no cost.  :o ??? ::)

Took delivery October 4.  Just asked at the dealership, service writer checked with HD and it was a done deal.  Parking is much easier now.

My wife's 09' Street Glide has the same problem.  The bike leans almost 1 1/2" inches more than the bikes that have recently gotten delivered at the dealer.  Told the dealer about it and they are looking into it.  Let's Roll

The assistant service manager at Deeley's Vancouver phoned today and informed me that there has been a bulletin released to upgrade all early production touring bikes that suffer from extreme lean angle.  Not too bad considering only 2 weeks ago they didn't recognize that there was a problem.  Dealer gave me the option of them replacing or I could-thanks and praise to the dealer. :pineapple:  :orange::cucumber:

Got mine fixed this week.  It makes a significant difference in the lean angle.   My dealer insisted to the bitter end that there was nothing that needed to be done.   You gotta love these guys.    :nixweiss:

My dealer could not find the bulletin a few weeks ago.  So they just took the side stand of a new SG and presto, the over-lean angle was take care of.  Let's Roll

+ 1 on what Rickybobby said.....Makes a big difference with the new sidestand.  My dealer (LV Harley Davidson) was great to work with on this.  No push back at all, just ordered the new part,  and put it on when it came in.

I took pictures of the lean angle on my SERG and the issue with the stock seat, emailed them to the dealer's service manager. Chris (Lubbock) emailed me back pronto and said he had ordered a new seat and jiffy stand bracket. He apologized for any inconvenience. I was impressed  :2vrolijk_21: , good folks there !

I get significant heart burn with my current jiffy stand bracket. The bike leans so far over, that if the stand didn't catch it, I doubt I could recover and pull the SERG back up. When I stop and lower that stand to dismount, I've got my eye on it. More than a bit concerning....

IGLIDE - the new stand takes away all of that problem. The bike sits upright as it should.  Easy to get the bike up and it eliminates that feeling like you are dropping the bike into a hole when you put it on the stand.
