How would one know if the jiffy stand on youre bike is the wrong one or short likes many are saying?  I think mine is ok, but am wondering now.

The jiffy stand bracket on my 09 SERG created an unacceptable lean angle. This issue, in particular, created heart burn for me. The bike leans over so far before the stand support comes into play; that, if it failed there would be too much weight for me to support, pull back up and recover from. And I am not a little guy.
I can't give any angles per say, although they could be measured. However; after letting the stand down before dismount, it feels as though the bike is going to fall completely over before the stand comes into contact with earth.  :nervous:
See pic below..

My dealer has agreed to correct this issue without question.

When I get off the rig next week tuesday I will have to look.  Howver I do not think mine leans that far.
Thanks for the picture

Dave, mine was an earlier production bike. I knew the lean angle was excessive from the git go. If yours had the same prb as mine, I bet you would know it. The situation shifts all your attention to that stand when you let it down, and lean the bike over for the support. It's bad enough that I push my left foot forward against the stand each time to make sure the stand is fully engaged before letting go of the bike. At that point the bike feels HEAVY.

Required Dealer Action

1. See Figure 1. Inspect for the OE embossing (can be felt

by reaching behind on back of jiffy stand bracket).

2. Replace with a 50096-09 bracket ONLY if the OE

embossment cannot be seen or felt, and the customer

requests replacement.

3. If the bracket is to be replaced, perform the required procedure

according to instructions in the appropriate

model service

Was out riding today and stoped for lunch and put the stand down and the bike does not lean over as much ... seem like the bike is almost straight up takes very little effort to stand the bike up. looked the stand and bracket over and all looks ok  wonder if anyone has had this happen....

I have a 2009 FLHX and it seems to not lean over enough, is there a fix for this. several times I've got off the bike and just looked at it worried that it was going to lean the other way. Anyone else have this problem? Also, I have read that some people have problems standing their bike up when it is leaned over "too" far. I am 5'5" and I have no problem with mine, my trick is to sit on the bike and use my hips and legs to stand it up, also turning the handle bars to the right helps a lot. This is a trick that I teach people who try to "muscle" a bike around with their upper body. Hope this advice helps someone.

Hey All,

Would any of you out there happen have the H.D. service bulletin number for the Jiffy stand bracket issue. Taking mine in on Thursday for all of the recalls, updates, etc. I'd like to get the bracket done too as long as it's there.

Thanks, Ken  8)
