Here is a picture of the HD version of the bag that i was considering.

Or... You can buy the SAC labelled ones for less.

The pockets are a little different though.

It is not inexpensive, and I would suggest to go with the chopped tourpak. I think that it finishes off the look of the SERG and I like the convenience and accessability of the CTP. I can put 2 shorty helmets in and lock it...I like that! I can throw my gloves, hat or water bottles and have instant access. Granted, the T-Bags would be nice to pack stuff for longer trips, but the CTP looks great on the SERG and you could always pack a smaller T-Bag on top of the CTP if you needed more room for stuff on the longer rides. As i see it, the only real negative is the high cost of the chopped tourpak, but once the money is spent and the CTP is installed on the bike you tend to forget about the cost and benefit from the convenience.

These bags seem to be a good alternative , the tourpak is not everybodys taste and doesn`t it make the bike instabil whwn you drive ?

Only if you overload it. If you pack saddlebags with heavy/heavier items then you'll not have a problem. With any packing you want to put as much of the weight over the axles then behind it.

I went for the cpt originally and I was sorry I bought it from day one. I did find someone willing to trade even up for a ktp and that made me extremely happy.  The ctp is kind of useless to me unless you want to store a helmet and thats about it.  Not very practical at all.   I'd get the king.  You wont be sorry.  Buy it for convenience not looks.

I found this soft luggage and sissy bar backrest replacement a possibility http://www.cyclepac.com/  I am interested in something quick to remove and functional.

d00d means do not put more weight in the right saddlebag than the left.

I heard someone say once that the chopped tour pack is as useless as two doors on a car. The thought of function trumping form doesn’t make complete sense to me so I have run a chopped tour pac on my last three machines, and my future ’09 FLHX will get one as well.

Got both for the current bike.  For anything up to a long weekend's running around could always pack the saddlebags and chopped pak.  For normal running around the chopped pak always holds the day to day stuff.  Can't hide anything more than a half helmet in it.  But I always hang the helmets somewhere on the bike anyway.

I’ll run a T-Bag on the passenger seat with a helmet bag attached or just the helmet bag on the shorter hops. The helmet bag is big enough and works well for energy bars or those fantastic convenience store ham and cheese sandwiches.  :puke:
