Well I replaced my fuel line, put a new choke cable on, cleaned out my gas tank as best I could and put tank back on and put about half a gallon of gas in the tank. Have not put the A/C kit on yet as I'm waiting for my Ness A/C unit to come in (Should be here tomorrow)

Now my stupe Question...I thought about turning the motor over to crank it since it hasn't been cranked in about a week and a half; but then I thought about the backplate and A/C being off and decided not to as I wasn't sure if I should attempt to turn it over...Should I turn it over or wait till I put the A/C unit back on?  :confused5:  :nixweiss:

doesn't matter either way

mine hasn't been turned over since 2 days after Christmas

you could turn it over without the A'C on it ..... it'll start up even .... won't run the best ever, but it won't hurt it

Yes to all and there is fuel entering the carb cause I looked to see when I was giving it gas with the throttle.

I've been sitting here wondering if I did something wrong when putting the new choke on; but I followed the directions to the "T" so I don't think I did anything wrong but who knows  :nixweiss: Anyway, I'm gonna try again in the morning and if it don't start; I'm gonna pull the carb back off, take the new choke off, put the new choke back on by the numbers and see how it goes.

Did you redo this carb with that Thunderslide kit yet? Might be the carb. Is it getting a spark? Did ya disconnect or disturb anything electrical? Does it sound like it's trying to start at all with spitting or "fire in the hole"? Try blocking the intake with your hand to cut the airflow and try starting it. HeHe!!! Been there a buncha times Blaine. You'll get it as ya go thru it! Prolly something stupid! ;)

No...I decided to wait till I got the A/C kit on first and see how it runs

b] [/b] Might be the carb. Is it getting a spark?

Don't know or even how to check; sad huh?  :-[ Haven't changed plugs in about a year and a half so will do that today

Did ya disconnect or disturb anything electrical?

Don't think so; but I'll double check

No spitting, coughing, or fire in the hole; turns over great but dosen't sound like it's tryin to fire even though fuel is getting into the carb...Did cover carb with hand but nothing...Thanks for the input  :2vrolijk_21:

Pull the plugs, reconnect to the plug wires and lay the plugs on the heads and crank.  You can see if there is spark.
Make sure you did not cross the wires  if single fire coil /ignition.  If so, spray starting fluid or WD40 directly into the carb to eliminate gas issues.  Spark and gas, ther basics.

you had the carb off, right ......

make sure the vacuum hose is connect to the carb and the petcock.  The petcock is vacuum operated and will not flow fuel unless it is hooked up to the carb.

edit:  I recall reading your post where you said that you can see fuel coming into the carb from the accelerator when you twist the throttle .... so fuel flow should not be the problem....   :confused5:

edit:  you got the VOES hose connected back on ......... right ?

Might be a stupid question, but did ya use fresh gas? Bad gas would cause this too. ;)

NOT so stoopid question;but how bout a stoopid answer. The gas I put in came out of a plastic gas container that had gas in it from at least 4 months ago the best I remember. I didn't even think of that...Gonna go ahead and put new fresh gas in then I;ll change plugs, then check spark as screamingul suggested.  :2vrolijk_21:

Mikey, What is a VOES Hose?  :confused5:  :nixweiss: Anyway, whatever wireing and hoses that were underthere were all connected back...The Vac Hose to the petcock to the carb...Check, The fuel line hose...Check...Thanks for all yall's help...Gonna change gas and check for spark first.  :2vrolijk_21:  >:(  ;D

The VOES is the Vacuum Operated Electric Switch. It converts vacuum to an electric signal. The vacuum hose must be connected. You also have a Vacuum actuated petcock that only will remain open under vacuum. Again, the vacuum hose must be connected. A vacuum pump connected to this petcock will keep it open if no vacuum is present, as in a non-running motor, if ya wanna check that. I remove all that chit from my Evos! ;)
