Welcome aboard.  Heck, your story beats the previous one I heard--a guy had a FXR3...brought it home from the dealer, drained all the fluids, moved it into his living room and hung it from  ornamental chains from the ceiling between the living and dining areas...and there it sat (hung) years later.  I saw this story complete with photos on the web a couple of years ago.

One day we'll read about your bike in the paper, when some collector pays big bucks for it.

Regardless, feel free to visit the FXR page here.

Hi, and welcome to the site from the UK. I do not know how you have the willpower to have a bike like that and not ride it.

Since that 2000 FXR4 already seems to have its kickstand down, you might as well stay awhile!   :bananarock:

That link is me on another forum relating the same story.  That post is from 2004, and I looked back then to see if I could find it again--no luck.  At that time (2004) it had been several years.  I just did another internet search--nothing still.

At this point, who knows, but I remember the photo of the bike hanging from two chains in somebody's living room/dining room area.

Thanks very much for the welcome!  The only bike presently owned is a new 2000 FXR4 in yellow.  This has unintentionally become one of those time capsule deals... it has never been dealer-serviced, registered, ridden, fueled or fired.  I helped remove it from the crate - even kept the Harley tiedowns.  No changes whatsover have been made - the only bolts ever turned were to remove the battery.  One (1) mile shows on the odometer - maybe a test of the electronics in the speedometer assembly??  An aviation protectant was sprayed into the cylinders while turning the engine, and a thin layer wiped onto chrome bits.  There was no actual plan for this to happen, just had some other stuff to ride at the time.  The bike is sitting in an enclosed trailer and an actual pic is hard to get, so the one posted is the stock Harley image.  It is not for sale... you might say this bike could be a good reference some day for restorations.  Of course, all of you have better stories with your trips and personalizations than my goofy one.  Safe riding to all!!

:cowboy: Welcome again from Texas :cowboy:                                                     :welcome_005:  :cherry:

Hope to see you at Eureka Springs...
