Use your HD Headset to talk thru Zumo 550 Bluetooth
« on: January 17, 2009, 07:41:56 PM »

This guy posted on another forum, knew alot of you folks here would be interested in it, if you don't already know about it.  The switch could be put virtually anywhere I'd imagine, so you wouldn't HAVE to drill a hole for it.  Worth a look I guess.  I haven't tried it, don't have a 550, but it's cheap enough, figured someone here would give it a whirl.  I'm not endorsing it in any way....just passin it along.....

Interesting.  Sent him an email asking for more info.  Not much is provided on his site.  Really don't want to drill a 15/32" hole in my inner fairing, but it appears that is what is required.  We'll see what happens.

With a different switch, you could mount it on the frame down below the fairing.  I have the adjustment knob for my Amplirider down there, is easy to reach, out of the way and still covered from the elements.  Don't think I'd do the drill thing.

Couldn't the aux switch already in the fairing be used for that? Not many people use them, I imagine.

Hard to say, the Aux is Single Pole/Single Throw, in the pic that one looks to be Double Pole/Single Throw....

Thanks for posting this. I'll be comparing this to J&M's $230 product that does the same thing.

I don't own a Zumo 550 or I'd buy it for $45. If it works, it would be well worth the price.

Just can't get past the drillin' thing for no other reason than what if..........somewhere down the road.........I decide to remove it to upgrade to something else.  Huge hole.

I'm sure you could find a solid state switch, they surface mount w/ double sided tape - no holes required.
