OK, I see your point.  So it seems that the onboard Nav is OK in a pinch, but the Zumo would be superior for all other functions, as it also provides XM, XM Traffic, MP3, and turn by turn.   So, does use of the Aux port disable CB, AM/FM, and Intercom?

If you plug the Zumo in through the Aux port, you then have to select Aux, so you can't use the AM/FM at the same time and have the Zumo NAV cut in for turn by turn.  I have no idea about the CB and Intercom, but I assume that they would not be able to cut in on the Zumo.   I think the bigger point is that on a bike this pricey, there should be no need to have a duplicate NAV, mp3, and XM radio on the bike and have to try to make the two work together as one.  The fact is, you don't need the Zumo, unless of course you want a good NAV system.  Boy, am I tired of thinking about this stereo system.  I'm going to try real hard to make use of what they have given me to work with and I think that if they would have at least included Bluetooth, it might have been more acceptable.  I may check further into that Bluetooth dongle that I've read about on here.  I think I'm going to have to give it some riding time this summer to determine what I've really got and what I want it to do, before I add anything to the current setup.

The Aux port does NOT cut off the Intercom, CB, Built In Navigator, or Bluetooth (If installed).  It does cut out CD, AM/FM, and XM.

If you use the Zumo into the Aux port you can play it's built in MP3 player and still have CB, Intercom etc.  You could also play it's XM function, but it's $299 (list price) for the XM antenna add on to the Zumo.

If you plug an Ipod or other MP3 player into the Aux port the built in HK-GPS will cut in to give directions as will the CB, Intercom, Bluetooth, etc.

Well, that is somewhat good news.  At least there is some functionality retained when using the Aux port.  I already have the XM antenna for the Zumo, and the traffic & weather on it has spoiled me to the point that it is a "must have" for me.  If I had owned the CVO Ultra last year instead of my Heritage, I would NOT have paid the extra $ for the antenna, but since I have it, it will definitely replace the XM on the Ultra.

I've used mine quite a bit and must say although it's not fancy it gets me where I need to go.
You can save multiple stops before your ride and if you vary off original route it does recalculate without the disc provided you haven't gotten to far off original route without disc in the player. I use my Ipod and XM so it stays in most of time.
One thing I suggest you do is to make a few extra copies of the nav discs and carry one in bag should they ever get scratched, Murphy always comes along for the ride. I keep the originals at home.

Your experience is definetely different then mine with recalculating.  I didn't even go off route once and it required the disk.  Turns out during construction they had moved a road a few yeards and the GPS wanted the disk.  So I think it's probably a "Your Mileage May Vary" thing.  I'd plan on having it handy just in case.

Definetely agree on making copies.  I leave the originals at home and only carry the copies with me.
