need advice during motor tear down
« on: January 21, 2009, 05:27:05 PM »

I'm having the 110 recall done on my 08 Ultra at the dealer ship and while it's apart I'm going to have the fins diamond cut at a cost of 400 instead of the 1,000 that they charge normally since the labor will already be done for the recall and also I'm having a chrome inner primary cover installed.

Is there anything else I should be doing since some of the motor is going to be in pieces anyway  ??

The motor is pretty much stock except for Rinehart true duals, a SE AC and a super tuner with the fuel richened up.

Cams maybe, I'm not looking for a drag bike just a nice cruiser with some decent mileage, if anything I notice that it lacks a little on the lower end off the line, which it did before the Rinehart's. What size cam come's stock on the 110 a 251 ? 255 ?

How about the SE big twin Compensator or SE performance clutch ?

Timken bearing ? Lefty bearing ?

Just trying to figure out what's worth doing now so I can save on some of the labor costs.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Your 110" motor already has the 'lefty' bearing. It is a bigger ,stronger bearing than the stock 88" - 96" bikes and you DON'T need a stronger clutch. Stick in a Woods 7 cam or a Andrews 32H and be happy. I would also use Cometic .030 head gaskets and tq. them to Cometic specs. That will 'bump' up your comp. ratio. Dewey
