Frankly, with all the motors HD repaired/replaced under w.....ty due to failure of the old tensioners, this is a design change and they should issue a recall to get this done under w.....ty. They want you to pay for the upgrade so they can get out of fixing under w.....ty! I'd go back and fight for it for free, or go trash my tensioners and get a new motor! Bunch BS!!! STF!!! ;)

GUYS GUYS

Everyone wants to offer their ideas on a new product and don't have a clue so,

I learned from Don long time ago when someone was posting useless info that the easiest thing to do is to make a call and get accurate info.

So here it is,

all 7 pages,

take note on page 2 where it says,,,,,,,,,,"Inspect the cams and secondary cam chain for wear and replace as needed".

Outstanding.  Nicely done Chip.  Tried that here and the local parts counter didn't have the part in stock yet.  So couldn't get the sheets.

This makes the new kit as beneficial in use as we'd hoped and were generally assuming it would be.  A minimum of "other" new parts needed.  And compared to Feuling or other aftermarket options a very cost competitive way to eliminate the old tensioners and gain the benefit of the new oil pump.

I'm still satisfied that gear drive went in the SERG two or three months ago.  Nothing to worry about (basically) forever is not a bad thing.  But had this been a known quantity at that time gears might not have gone in.

Thanks Don!
Rather than spout off on something I wasn't sure of and wind up looking foolish I made the call and they obliged.
For us 99 thru 06 owners this is a great package.
Hope this helps!

Ahh, but you did! :o

HeHe!!! I guess we should clarify that it includes you at the top of the list, even though you removed your old posts confirming the same as we all did, but now doesn't appear that way to everyone anymore! ::) ;D ;D ;D

This purpose of my post(s) here is to help those with 99 to 06 to learn about the new kit being offered by Harley.

I posted above the installation info concerning that kit.

I hope this clears any confusion, it certainly does for me and I have placed my order.

Also, placed an order for the new 09 Centerstand, but that's for another time and another thread!  ;)

Well thanks for posting the actual instructions. They are very helpful in understanding this kit. :2vrolijk_21:
