I told my dealer about the change of seats and that the problem is not solved , he wants to bring my seat to a specialist and he should modify the seat , then he wants to make pictures and a report and wants to send it to the MoCo for a idea to modify the seat . that they can see how it should work , i also have another seat , the signature , very good , but the stock one should be a rideable one too .

My dealer ordered the new seat without hesitation.

Let's see if that solves the problem.  ???

So after all this time, bikes are still being shipped with this problem? I pick mine up on Friday... so I guess I need to be on the look out for this?

My bike was finished in Dec... and was diverted to the military sales program... so I'm gonna go ahead and expect it to have the gap. Hopefully everyone has the word by now, so it won't be an issue!

My seat also had a gap of approximately 1" when seated on the seat.  When not on the seat there was almost no gap.

I called the Moco and spoke with a Rep and the guy really didn't want to swap the seat out...  he really put up a defense telling me that my bike shouldn't have had that problem because it's build date was during the time frame when that issue should have been corrected...

Well, I pressed on and insisted and after some debate and photo exchanging, they sent a new seat to my local dealer (who had no prior knowledge of this supposed well known issue).

I picked up and installed the seat yesterday and guess what????

The replacement seat absolutely fits better!!!  There's no gap. However...  the foam material beneath the leather at the front of the seat is thin and in MHO poorly crafted...  I doubt anyone else would notice what I'm seeing, but at this point I'm looking at every detail much closer than I normally would as I'm sure all of you understand.

Once again defeated by what should be the greatest Motorcycle company on earth...

I'm over it now...   Time for the solo seat.  Corbin, C&C or Danny Gray. Cost vs. function, I'm looking for the most comfy on long rides and good looks which I think all 3 OEMS provide.  I only have experience with Corbin though...

The HD Signature seat solo with backrest is a comfortable one and the passenger pillon too , but you need another sissybar for the BSR  , the stock low one is aching .

Well in some parts of Europe they're acknowledging the situation.
As I mentioned before over here in Finland my dealer ordered the new seat immediately.
No problem at all.
But the replacement seat is still on its way so we'll see if it takes care of the problem....
