Last one - side view not sitting on - Does anyone else have an issue with the gasket arount console looking sloppy and short?

I guess the gasket is short because the front end of the seat was meant to hide it.

at a chapter meeting last nite, while talking with the dealer, he told me he got a call that basically said, NO MORE SEAT SWAP OUTS. you guys are going to have to live with it or go aftermarket.

IT GOES ALONG WITH WE WON'T COVER PAINT ISSUES ON THE MOTOR BECAUSE IT IS ATMOSPHERIC CONDITION ISSUE.

SO WE HAVE A NEW WARRENTY RULE IF WE (MOCO) SCEW UP THE DESIGN IT IS NOT COVERED!

I just took my 09 Silver SERG in for it's 1K checkup and added the jacked up looking seat gap to the to do list.  I'll post what happens when I get the bike back this week.

I just got off the phone with Manassas, VA HD and they said this gap is on all the bikes and that they would not replace the seat.  My plan is to get the sales and parts guy (spent a ton of money with these two guys over the last 3 weeks) and the service guy together and demo the gap issue to see if I can get some resolution.

You need to get them to Call HD area rep.  Most every one with this problem is getting replacement seats from the MoCo

which doesn't seem to be fixing the problem. Hang it up guys, get an aftermarket seat, or live with the Gap.

Got mine replacement seat , drove home and removed it and put it in a box and mounted the signature-seat again .
Next time i will mount the stock one is when i will sell the SERG , sometimes in future times . end of story .

I spoke to the Service Manager todayt and he told me the same thing, this is a normal gap - there is nothing wrong with the seat.  I asked him to call his Tech Rep at the MoCo and tell them that I was complaining about the gap on the seat.  He said he would and called me back 1 hour later.  He told me the tech said that my build date was after they realized they had a SERG seat issue and had resolved it and that my seat should be one of the new ones.  He's sending me a new seat just in case.

Now I'm reading that the seat retaining clip is part of the problem - oh boy!  You'd think after building bikes for 107 years, they'd know how to build a seat.  Especially on a bike that costs over $30K!!!

Sure , they should know , and they do know , look at their seat-catalogue , there are great seats ( built from HD ) like the signature-one , i am very satisfied with this signature seat and the passenger pillon is very comfy too , but in this way the MoCo again makes a hand full of money in addition .
And they know that we do not change to BMW because of a fuc..ing seat , They trust in us , i guess .

Congrats on the new seat.  Plop weight on that thing and take some pics of the seat/tank area.   My seat gap only shows when there's weight in the saddle.
