Dewey I hear the praise of the 32H. Will it work as well in the Touring Models as it does in the lighter Softail and Dyna's. Also if we do not modify the heads right away will the Engine gain the enough of the benefits with just a cam swap?

The dyno above was done on a 'BONE STOCK'  2007 cvo 110" springer. NO TUNE ,NO BLACK BOX ! Stock throttle body 46mm. All I did ,was  Zippers air cleaner , and RUSH slip-ons that I made my own baffles for. PERIOD ! As you can see ,it was running lean. The 32H cams ,really cooled the motor down. Since then , I did a very lttle 'head work' { milled .015 } and used a Cometic .030 head gaskets and added a TFI {black box} and it dyno'd at 102 and 114 now. Stock rev limiter {5500 rpm} . I told 3 different people with 110" dresser to put that cam in and are very happy. Very quiet cams.  Around $220 . I used 'stock' push-rods too. You can change out the cams and NEW inner bearings in less then 3 hours. Dewey  SFFS   ps. I hope Denver wins the super bowl !  :bananarock:

NOW, in my opion  ,these are good motors , {with a 'little' work.} When you pull 100 hp. and 110 tq with just a cam change , thats not bad.  STOCK EFI , now with a FAT-CAT 2-1 and SERT , and bigger TB {52-54 mm} and a GOOD TUNER , you can see 106 -108 hp. and 116+ with STOCK HEADS and 32H cams,  those were 5th gear runs on a 'stingy' dyno. 5 year old 250 I  with winpep 7  I have been doing this harley 'stuff' for over 30 years and it wasn't that long ago that you had to do ALOT of work to your motor to get 80 lbs. tq.  and remember , hp. sells parts , tq. wins races !  Don't let these ' used car salemans' try to sell you some different heads , or a .650 lift cams ! You want to ride , YES ? Lone Ranger is on,see ya.

dewey, in your experience, would a sert or power commander be worthwhile on your mild build?...would adding timing improve power and throttle response enough to justify the time/money required?

Don't know ! There are NO good tuners around here for 500 miles ,period. All I can say,is that this 2007 CVO Springer ,runs strong and gets 43 mpg. With the TFI , I have the AIR-FUEL right on the 13.5- 1 at WOT , and its so straight ,that you can hardy see it. Running 'around 14 - 1 at cruise. Want to see a dyno with the TFI ,give me your fax. I am sure with a SERT and a GOOD tuner ,who could play with the timing ,there is more in it. Remember , it takes 3+ lbs. tq. to feel in your ' one eye pumpkin'. Dewey

Have you done a compression check with the 32 cams?  As you know, the stock 255 cams run around 220psi w/o the acr's.  I would hope to see it around 180-190psi.

178 but we are at 5300 elevation. It went up more when I milled .015 and uses the .030 hg. haven't checked yet.  Barney five

Iglide, I like your thinking, the less we pay to the steeler the better, do you think this cam will work in an '09 SEUC with the cat or should I plan on taking it out?

Also, you're saying no SERT PCIII or anything else :nixweiss: Sounds to good to be true!!

I didn't say , NO SERT or PC .  That dyno was done with NO BLACK BOX.  I would get some way of 'adding' fuel. Up to you , as they will run without one ,just a little lean. :coolblue:

My bad :confused5: So what would you recommend to go with the 32H?

Stage 1 A/C?
SERT/PCIII/TTS?
Different Header?
Different baffles or Mufflers?
Dyno run

Does this seem reasonable to you?

no need to see a dyno...you say it works and that's good enough for me...low comp, good streetability, not a lot invested, sounds like a win-win

Dewey,

You mention NO good tuners around. I notice you are in Farmington, NM. Have you heard of Nick Trask of Trask Performance? he is a little further, he is in Phoenix and from what friends of mine have said who had him work on their bikes he is pretty good. I have not had him do any tuning on my bike however, that may change soon as I am taking my bike down to Phoenix this weekend and then drive bacl to Calgary in June.
