Just rode 2007 Screaming Eagle Ultra for first time
« on: February 02, 2009, 08:40:13 PM »

I managed to make it down to the dealer to ride the bike home today.  I purchased it in CA and had it shipped to Indianapolis.  Of course it was about 30 degrees here and I rode home in snow flurries, but I made it.  I have never ridden a 110 before and I was amazed at the power of this bike.  Twist the throttle and hold on!!!  It is also terribly loud with the thunderheader 2 in to 1 which I will probably change.  After about 10 minutes I had to shut off the heated seat because it got too hot, but the heated hadgrips did not seem to do much.  Any thoughts on that?  All in all, I was not that cold and probably could have kept on riding.  Any thoughts you have would be great and thanks.

Congratulations on picking up your new ride...   :2vrolijk_21:  The first ride is great regardless of the temperature, isn't it!

The heated grips are known to fail - and fail often.  A pretty reliable replacement for the stock heated grips are Heat Demons...  They are usually always found on ebay...  good product and good vendor to work with also.

Congrats on the bike. Which CA. dealership did you buy it from? Yes, Thunderheaders are LOUD, as least to me. My suggestion is ear plugs until you find an exhaust system you like.

Congrats on the new ride! Jealous you can ride it at all. Everything up here is frozen solid. Second the view on the Heat Demons. Know some guys that have them and they swear by them.

Congrats on your new ride...

I remember the first time I rode my GL1800... I took it easy for the first little while, and then fnally decided to give the throttle a twist and see what she'd do. DAMN! I think the front time came off the ground a bit and the only thing that kept me on the bike was the vinyl I sucked up my backside!

Can't wait to do the same on my '09!

My heated grips failed at 2000 miles, and they are on back-order at the dealership currently.  Miraculousily, they started working again yesterday for about an hour and then died again.

The heated seat, to me, is HOT even on low so I switch it off and on as needed.  But it beats not having one.  The greatest thing about both of these feathers; its at least a source of heat where is is usually NONE.

If you like the heated grips and seat,,, get a heated jacket.... Its a home run and the others are just base hits.

Congrars on the ride and I hope its warm enuff to ride soon

Harley of Fullerton-Anaheim.  I flew out in December to look at it.  Dealt with Brian at the dealership and he was great to work with.  Had it shipped here for just over $600.

Awesome!
Have fun with it and like Scott says, if the stock grips
are not still under warranty, then go with the Demons.
I have a ThunderHeader on my Street Bob and love it.
Would imagine on the SEUC it would be too much.

Congratulations Robonel, glad you got her and especially the chance to ride this time of the year.  C'mon spring!  I'm surprised to hear about the heated grips, no one else here has had that problem  ::).  If your warranty is still active, hurry down to the dealership and get'em replaced or at least on order, (read as "back order")!  Now start replacing all those things you were mentioning earlier.

Welcome and regards,

Brett

Congrats, you'll totally love it!  I have had the same issues with my grips not heating up but the seat will really warm the buns!  I installed V&H oval slip ons and really like the deep rumble and it's not too loud.  The other day I heard the new Monster Ovals and they are really sweet sounding, even more of a deep rumble and not quite as loud although a bit pricey (around $800).
