Great looking build Jeff, good to see the FXRs accepted by the younger riders too.  Some of us 'old birds' have been on to a good thing for a long time.  Your pics are getting me thinking too.  Was able to get two pics of my scoot on 'FXR Chatter' - page 34, and wanted to thank you for helping me.....take care, Greg

Any time Greg and thanks for the kind words.

I got my ol' gal back home tonight. She looks great. The W6 cam comes on like gang busters. The progressive 412 and heavy fork oil makes her ride better than ever. The custom paint and painted motor look damn good. And of course the chrome sets her off.

Here's some pics

It was dusk when I took these so the pics don't do the paint job justice. I'm very happy with the way she came out. My son's not going to believe it the same bike when I hand him the keys.
Of course she comes back to me when he's ready to buy his own!

Thanks Spyder

When you compare the before and after it is amazing what a little TLC (and cash) can do.

It's beautiful!
Wish I could be there to see the smiles when you hand over the keys.

Well I rode the ole Low Glide all around the county today.

The Wood W6 cam is quiet. I've read on a number of other sites that this cam is a little noisy. I'd say not. I do not notice any difference noisewise from the factory cam. However, when you get into the cam (2100 - 2200 rpm) she takes right off. She runs strong all the way to the limiter. I would recommend this cam to anyone for an Evo. I'm told she'll be even better after the heads are milled a bit.

I'm going to have to replace the straight risers with pullbacks. I like the flat hand position of the Deuce bars but I'm still having to reach too far. I'm have to adjust the gauge mount by straighten the lip in a press. A little black wrinkle paint should make it look right.

I'll have to get back in the habit of turning the gas on. Embarrassing to have someone telling you what a nice bike you have and then it sputters and dies.

The Progressive 412 shocks put the OEM's to shame. Very responsive and smooth. The 35mm front forks are still a weakness, even with heavier oil. Wonder if Ricor makes a IAS for them?

Finally I have a rattle I'm trying to track down. At first I thought it was my old butt however I'm checking around the heat sheilds once she cools.

I fell in love all over again for this FXR. Keats, you gotta ride this baby. And she's pretty too.

Here's a couple pictures of the gauge mount. Where it attaches is at angle so the gauges face you. With pullback risers the face of the gauges will be looking more towards the tank. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
