Like Unbalanced and I thought....the build is worse than a bad joke.  To salvage what is there for the best dollar to reward ratio at this point...first the cam has to go.
With those pistons and the stock heads the compression is now around 9.4:1 which will support the andrews 37g (gear drive) cams.(9.8 would be ideal but that involves pulling the heads for decking) you will need a tuner of some sort..I would find someone good in your area and purchase what they are good with...SERT or pcIIIusb. You will need to cut out the pushrods so you can buy and install a set of easy intall adjustables.  Then comes the labor and dyno money. Whats the asking price?  There's an 05 on this site for 28,000.
So an 04 is 26,000 if perfect so start subtracting from there.  It has to run like a turd !
Why go through the agravation on a new purchase ? Buy it if you can steal it or look for another.

Sqrrl, IMO, 20K would be a pretty good deal.  Even after a few mods, if you're not happy, it could be sold.  [smiley=7.gif]

GC_Super is right...if you wouldnt mind going through the push ups to make it run good...if you could grab it for 20k  and had to spend $1,500.00 .....  But you'd still have to fix it. Food for thought.  My guess is the owner either needs $$$  is getting divorced??  or is tired of trying to make what he has run correctly.

Hey guys, I was shocked to see this discussion about the bike I just bought. Got it for $21,000 and already had a $25,000 offer after about 8 hours of cleaning and polishing. The guy was great about regular maint. He was just misled by the guys at Wild Fire HD in the Chicago area. The bike has a ton of potential. I noticed someone wrote that with the 1550 forged flat top stroker pistons the comp is 9.4:1. Where did that info come from because everything I've read and been told these pistons are the same height as the stockers. Please advise. I know SE 211s will make 100 Hp and lots of midrange are the TW37Gs better?

This poor dude needed to sell to buy a house. He actually lost $17,000 on the bike in 18 months!!!! That's about a thou a month or a dollar a mile. Great deal for me!!!
