I want to buy a Handy motorcycle lift for my cvo bikes, including my FLHTCUSE4.
I've researched the various manufacturers that make lifts. I'm not looking for the cheapest or the best bang for the buck. I want a Handy lift and have narrowed my choice to the B.O.B. 1500 or the 20707 (or similar version, if I go with color), which is an electric lift that also is rated at 1500 pounds like the BOB 1500 but the 20707 raises to 48 inches in height instead of 40 inches and way higher than the 30 inch 1000 pound versions (except for the new S.A.M. 2 that goes to 35 inches). The 20707 is 6 inches longer and 1 1/2 inches wider (86 5/8" x 29 1/2") than the BOB 1500 (84" x 28"). The front of the 20707 also pivots down 18 inches for easy access to the fork and front tire. And yes, I know the 20707 is pricier than the BOB 1500, but only about $600 from dealers. Both units have the rear tire opening.
I'm going to have to countersink the lift in my garage because of limited room. A real sweet benefit of countersinking is the ease of driving the bike right on the lift without worrying about it tipping over if you don't have extensions for your feet or long legs. The extra 8 inches of lift height I get on the 20707 will make it a 40 inch lift from garage floor level after it's fully countersunk. I'm leaning toward the 20707. Others have told me an air lift is kind of annoying and loud when it's being lowered as it releases air, not to mention the air compressor pumping away when its being lifted, but I don't know because I've never owned one.
Can anyone recommend a good Handy dealer that is also aggressively competitive on price, and maybe even offer additional discounts for cvoharley members?
