More D&D 2-1 questions
« on: February 21, 2009, 04:10:20 PM »

Does anyone know if the 2-1 Fatcats are available yet for the 2009 touring bikes?  My dealer just called me to tell me that they cannot get any D&D exhaust systems anymore.  They said that since Drag Specialties and Custom Chrome doesn't carry them, they have no supplier.  I saw on here that the ones that fit an 08 will work.  What needs to be done in order to make the 08 Fatcat work on an 09?

This is getting very frustrating.  I have had the V&H Power Duals on order, and they keep moving the date back further every week, so they are not available.  Even the ones on E-bay that are listed are pre-orders if you read the listings.  Now I can't get the D&D's either.

Well, since Chip has a Fat Cat on his 09 SEUC, I'd say that pretty much answers the mail.   :2vrolijk_21:

I was on their site once before.  I remember the picture of trying to squeeze a 10' 6" mill through a 10' door.  Maybe I'll give them a call Monday.

First, I'm not sure who Chip is.  Second, does he have the ones made for 09 or does he have the 08 pipes modified to fit the 09?...and if the 08's modified, I need to know what he had to do to make them work.  I guess Chip would be able to tell me.  I know I've seen someone on here also referred to as Chip, but I don't remember what screenname he uses.  If you can give me that, I'll PM him.

Chip as you've seen is Silver-Black.  His pics show the install you asked about.  You also asked about any required modifications to complete the installation.  While everyone was rolling a bit that didn't seem to get answered for you.  As I recall Chip describing the install right after it was done this was a bolt-on without modification.  When he's back on again he can clarify if need be.

Thanks for noticing that noone really ever answered the important part of that question.  Nobody actually came out and told me who Chip was either, but I did make that guess correctly.  I saw the pics of Silver-Black's bike with the 2-1 and figured if it wasn't him, he still had the pipes anyway.  I did send him a PM earlier, so I assume he'll get back to me with the answer.  I thought that there was some slight mod that needed done.  If not, why would they have come out with an 09 specific part number.  They do show a new 09 part number on their website, but I'm wondering if any are actually available.  If I can make the 08 fit, I think I've found myself a brand new one for under $400, which would be a pretty good deal and I'd obviously rather go that route if it's not much of a headache to get it to work.  Thanks again for paying attention.
