A Wintertime Video Ride to the Dealer
« on: February 22, 2009, 02:20:26 AM »

Seriously.  Yesterday decided to record the ride from the driveway at 8800ft. to the nearest H-D dealer 40 miles away at 5500ft.  35 degrees.  Crunched the ride into a five minute vid.  Will see...

The driveway
The county road
The highway
The backroads shortcut
The road hugging the mountain
The canyon
The interstate
The dealer parking lot

Yee ha!  Clips from the vid:

So if you have nothin cookin like I obviously didn't, here's the link.  Mary Chapin Carpenter's "I Am a Town" accompanies as well as the low Milwaukee rumble...

Nice video...  What does your video configuration look like?  It's apparently a helmet-cam, but is it a remote camera, etc...?

OMG, what a horrible polluted and congested area you have to live in!
;-)))
I wanted just to peak into the video out of curiosity, but I watched the entire five minutes. I think it is very well done, and it was something of a ride substitute for me during our unusually long winter this year. Your area must be beautiful when the spring comes! Thanx.

Ride safely,
Louis

Sfarson I hope the ride was as good or better for you as it was for me. I'm like a little kid in the morning watching cartoons when you post your videos. Enjoyed & thank you.  :2vrolijk_21:

Hey all, thanks.  Nice to get out and score a few points against winter.  The cam was one of those new all-in-one recorders saving the video to a memory card.  Give me simplicity!  http://www.vholdr.com/front_page

Mesmerizing! Watched the whole thing. Was just out in Denver last weekend for my best friend's wedding. He has 10 Honda's and the weather wasn't good enough to ride. What a bummer!!  Thanks for sharing!

Your vids and pictures never disappoint. Newer folks would do well to find your past work.  :2vrolijk_21:

Don't know how y'all manage to get anything done out there w/ all that beautiful territory to ride and explore  -  but I'm darn envious.

Thanks a lot.

Loved watching the video. My sis has a place in Flourissant ( 9600ft ) and we make a trip up there most summers to do some Colorado riding. There aren't many bad roads up there. We always thouroughly enjoy it, but I couldn't handle the winters at that altitude.
thanks

I'm in the Fluorissant area all the time.  Rode through it on 24 two weeks ago.  Ever been to Guffey?  Rita's Place is a good place for a lunchtime stop.
