Your local dealer should sell them, along with ebay and other internet vendors....remember, legend has it that for it to work effectively you can't buy your own...supposed to be a "gift" from someone other than the bike owner.

But is it okay to ask someone to give you a bell for a present? :confused5:

I've had pretty good longevity hanging mine from the front floorboard mount.

You left off the helmet lock

My brother got one for me over 30 years ago after my first accident. I hang mine (same one from 30 + years ago) off the frame tucked in by the floorboard.

My wife got mine after hearing the stories (and maybe a hint from me where to look - http://firemanjoes.com/road_bell.html)..
Spent a lot for it and it was only on the bike for a short while - fell off somewhere between here and the mountains of Carolina  :nixweiss:

I wrote the the supplier - they were not interested in a new item falling apart and being lost.

So my wife wrote - with the the emotions of a fire fighter's wife, and they promptly sent a replacement.  :2vrolijk_21:

Here's a link to J&P, to show some of the different types of bells you can get. These are pretty inexpensive ones, but like Porthole said they can go missing fast, so inexpensive could be good!

Got one from one of my son-in-laws who I believe got one from one of his uncles, all Harley riders and good family. He's one of a kind, a soldier in the Army, been in Desert Storm & recently Ira,q and takes good care of our daughter & two grandkids. He even went as far as finding a bell with flames to match my 09 SESS, so has special meaning in so many ways. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

My wife and I got ours from friends on our first run to Myrtle Beach in 2006. Mine's been on three different bikes now. Painted it with black brake rotor paint to match the last bike. Might have to petition for a new one for the Silver Bullet...

I was given mine on an Alaska trip, but with a twist. I was told that it was a "bear bell". I thought that meant it would keep the bears away but it was explained to me that people up there just watch for these bells in the piles of bear sh*t. If they find one they know that a biker had been through the area. :D

I have 3, all given to me when I bought my first bike.  Brother in law, buddy at work, (both riders) and my wife.

2 hang from the bottom front of the frame, where the highway bars mount.  One a little higher on the frame because there's no more room down low.

I hear them when I back out of the garage, and it reminds me to be safe because I know there are people who care.
