Jim OK-Deer Gone
« on: October 05, 2005, 09:47:18 AM »

12:30 in the afternoon my friend whacked a six point buck. He's got some broken ribs and scrapes. They tracked the deer and it had a busted leg. The bike is a fatboy.

That sucks!  I'm glad that he'll be okay.  Does he get to keep the deer?

Middle of the day too. Sucks a lot. Getting close to rut here which means extra extra caution. Hope your bud heals soon.

Thanks you guys ! He'll be good as new in notime. One of the locals tracked the deer down . whereabouts are unknown. The tracker knew Jim and called to tell him what it was. I guess the varmint just leaped from the woods. Jim recalls being eyeball to eyeball with the beast. I don't eat deer but I do eat cow. If it was beef I would have tracked it. [smiley=laugh.gif] He did do a heck of a job parking the bike tho that's the main reason I posted the picture. Does make it easy to clean the rims . [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

YOu know this topic is really scary this time of year.  We have more deer than people (it seems sometimes) down here in South Texas and they get up and about this time of year.  Believe it or not I fear hitting one of those ferrel hogs more than I do a deer.  Those hogs get huge down here and they are so low that if you hit one it would be like hitting a 3 foot tall brick wall.  Really need to be very careful running at night at this time of year.  A friend of mine from Texas hit a deer this summer on an interstate in upstate Michigan on the freeway.  He said it just "came out of nowhere".  He survived and is up riding again but his Screamin Eagle Road Glide is still in the shop waiting on the replacement paint set from the MOCO to arrive.  Bill was something like 14K to repair and they still did not total it.  Be safe out there, RG.
