check the folks at midwest cycle suppy had the same problem with my 95 fxsts found detachable sideplates there allows me to take off plates sissybar and rack in one shot.the plates ran about $50 for the pair.good luck:) had to deal with the same issue on my 02 flsts heritage vintage rack (that wasnt supposed to fit my yr

three hardware kits drilling a new fender with a dull bit relocating and wiring the turnsignals and finishing 3 hrs before i left for virgina beach
