Great job, Mobe! And thanks for posting the pics and the drilling idea....will get my dealer to drill and wire 'em, I ain't up for that kinda pain...but your pics sure make my decision alot easier, the bars look alot more comfortable than stock for my needs.

Elvis, that sounds like one of those times, however, where it's a good idea to get a labor quote from the dealer before they start the job  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

So Mobe...do you think the stock cables will work with the Flanders 715's or can you make that call (I know you already switched some for the Wild Ones).  If not, is it just the brake cable that will be short i.e. can one reroute the stock clutch/idle cables to work as is or which will I have to get?

thanks,

elvis

PS.  Wilma go back to Bedrock.

Everything will be reroutable except the front brake line. You will have to change it out for a longer one.

Is it still that same 2" over break line that we could get by with when switching to the Wild 1 bars?  Or something longer?  If the 2" longer line does the trick anyone can find the part number for it back in thread where the Wild1 bars were originally discussed so heavily.

Should anyone be considering the same bars then the part number for a brake line will be 45252-04.

Thanks, TwoLane.  So my stealer's quoting 4 hours for wiring the bars and 2 hours for doing the brake line plus parts, which I will get online at 20% off.  I figure around $500-600 for this venture...but my back/shoulder is worth it.  Did the Skyway recently and still sore so not doing it is not an option.  Thanks again for doing the advance work, Mobe.

Had a chance to go for a decent ride yesterday and try out the new bars. By far the most comfortable set I have yet had on the jalapeno. I'll have to go for a 4+ hour ride to know for sure if it keeps the knife pain out of my neck. But when I came back from Sturgis, I stretched back to where just my fingertips were on the bars and the pain would subside, so I think these bars will do the trick.

I was looking thru American Rider today and saw these handlebars by cycle smiths. They also have 13" and 16" Rise Apehangers for Electra Glide and Ultras. 1.25" diameter with internal wiring and accepts hydraulic clutch. Here is the website  http://www.cyclesmiths.com/ They don't have a picture of how it looks on a bike, was wondering what it would look like.
