Motorcycle officers slain
« on: March 22, 2009, 05:39:33 PM »

Two Oakland motorcycle officers were shot and killed yesterday during a traffic stop.  The low life who shot them was wanted on a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.  He also shot and killed two swat officers in shootout at an apartment building after the traffic stop.  At the seen of the first shooting, some low lifes were gathering around taunting police.  What pieces of chit.  My sympathy and prayers go out to the officers families.

Only one mc guy was killed, the other is in critical condition.

The other two who died were SWAT members who went after the guy who barricaded himself.
The news is now reporting that the 4th officer is now 'brain-dead'.  spyder

It is a crying shame. It happens a lot more than most of us know about, we just don't hear about just 1 officer being killed. The National Fallen Law Enforcement Memorial is in Downtown DC right behind one of my old stations. Every May they gather to place the names on the wall. I am not sure how many each year though. I know at the Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg Maryland we place about 100 on the wall each year in October.

Why this dumbchit had to ruin so many lives is beyond me.. When the motor officers pulled him over, he should have just put the pistol barrel in his mouth and pulled the trigger. Another felon with a gun incident.. Now innocent families are hurting... >:(

Brian I agree, but with the little money they pay us to do these jobs that is the least they can do! The one other thing the Government does is get us high amounts of Life Insurance for a very reasonable cost. If I go down in the line of duty my 2 daughters will be set for the rest of their lives. Sad to look at it like that, but I knew what I was getting into when I took the oath! Now I can look back at a GREAT CAREER. It has truly been an adventure.

One other note to add. The Men and Women in Public Safety around the United States don't really like their jobs THEY LOVE THEM and wouldn't do anything else for a living!

Amen to that!!! I could've retired in July, but going to hang around until I reach mandatory retirement age  Even then I'm going to beg the Chief/City Mgr for a year extension. I have been truly blessed in finding a job that I don't consider work. :2vrolijk_21:
